We had an amazing stay and experience at Hillsnek. The staff were so lovely and friendly and the service was excellent. The meals were superb with a great variety of local produce. The ‘tent’ rooms are luxurious with beautiful views across the wide veld. However, what really stood out was our safari guide. Hanri has great knowledge and experience of safari and told us much about the animals, the plants and their habitat. Hanri expertly looked after us throughout our 3-day trip and navigated and drove us close to the animals without getting too invasive but respecting their space. We have some wonderful memories and pictures, so thank you to all the staff at Hillsnek, for making our stay unforgettable!

The most magical stay at Hilsnek. We were absolutely blown away by the whole experience. The attention to detail from the lodge, tents, decor, food, extras, staff, and game drives were beyond anything we could have imagined. We stayed over Valentine’s Day & we have the most beautiful supper provided to us. With a table full of roses. It was divine. Thank you to Renzo & his team for looking after us & special thanks to Nikki our ranger - she was phenomenal.

Wow wow wow! What a beautiful experience. We went for our Honeymoon at the end of October, first safari out of 2 booked. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and friendliness. We instantly felt part of a family. The staff knew it was our Honeymoon from our booking so they added special extras in our room which I won’t reveal for those who like surprises (me ) The staff are so attentive and they make sure you are fully relaxed at all times, the wake up call at 5am with a hot chocolate delivered to your door was perfect along with a heated blanket put on for when you go to bed.. all these extras made the experience so special and unique. Nikki our guide, thank you for taking us on the most incredible game drives. Remo, Nadine, Yolanda, Penny, Maggie, Amanda and the rest of the team I didn’t get chance to get your names, thank you for your hospitality, 5 star. We’ve been trying to think of any dislikes, anything we would change… the only thing we could think of is maybe a roof on the safari vehicle? Our tip would be to take WARM CLOTHES! We checked the weather for this time of year and didn’t expect it to be cold and rainy (apparently this is unusual for that time of year) I will certainly be booking again in the future

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend 3 nights at HillsNek Safari Camp on the Amakhala Game Reserve. The whole time from start to finish was amazing. All the staff were so attentive and helpful. The accommodation was perfect, high class glamping and the food was delicious and so varied. They found ways to make the experience so special greeting us every time we came back from a game drive with different surprises and treats. We had the same guide Ebin every day for the morning and afternoon game drive. He took us out on an open jeep and having only 4/6 of us was great, because he could help us all see what we wanted to see. He was so knowledgeable and patient and we got to see the Big 5 and much more. We will treasure our memories for the rest of our lives!

Havent been to that many gamedrives/ safaris but still a few and this one is absolutely awesome. An all inclusive experience with friendly and helpful staff, delicious food and housing and not to forget really competent guides. Highly recommended! And if you’re lucky you can se all Big Five in the wild!

HillsNek was the highlight of our trip to South Africa, the location, accommodation and food were all beyond excellent but it was the warmth and attention to detail from our hosts that took the experience to another level. I’ve never felt so welcome and well looked after and thoroughly recommend anyone considering a stay here to do so.

This was my 2nd visit, and I wasn't disappointed. Amakhala is a beautiful and well run reserve and Hillsnek is the best lodge. The staff are very friendly and the food and service is 5 star. Ebin, our guide, is very knowledgeable and passionate about wildlife. As well as game drives they offer bush walks and pampering massages. A lovely stay.
