Center Parcs de Kempervennen Eindhoven

I'm afraid that even though there are plenty of decent aspects to this holiday, there are several downsides. The best things are the activities, they were great. The downsides are the terribly dirty cottages that we stayed in. Even though i paid a lot of money to stay in a VIP Cabin, it was filthy. The rug on the floor was covered in stains and hairs and bits - really should have been thrown out. The sofa was similarly dirty and needed replacing. The beds are uncomfortable. Shame because the activities were good. The place is very expensive also - but i think everyone knows that !

We had a great family holiday. Kids are aged 7 and 10 and we really enjoyed the pool. Our kids loved the activity centre which has a large indoor ninja style play area which was completely free to use. All activities were way cheaper than what they would cost in the UK whereas food and drink was similar price or slight cheaper. We combined our holiday with a visit to efteling.

Staff on site are truly excellent and work really hard to make your stay enjoyable. The whole place really needs a "good lick of paint" as it looks a little tired and dated. My accommodation was very clean and spacious. Cooking facilities are really limited to what you can cook on a stove. Restaurant food on site is not bad at all and staff are always cheerful and helpful. On site supermarket is a little pricey so be warned.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at Der Kempervennen with two adults and two children (4yrs and 2yrs). Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and there was lots for our kids to enjoy highlights for them being the playgrounds, aqua mundo, the otters, and petting animals. I do think the park could benefit from some more activities for younger children however - for example the ‘fun zone’ is a great area that I imagine older kids would really enjoy, but it would have been great to have a little soft play in there for the smaller ones. Our older son absolutely loved aqua mundo, but for me on some of the days it really was uncomfortably full, and I noticed on our lat day that there was what looked like a school trip to the pool - I wonder if the day users could be more restricted to allow for better experience for those staying on site. The food on site is expensive - but we travelled by car/bikes to a local Aldi to stock up which made it more reasonable. We only ate out once in the main aqua mundo area but found the food to be pretty basic and quite overpriced. The cottages are as you’d expect, quite basic but comfortable and clean - had made sure to pack kids plates/cutlery/Tupperware to make things easier with small kids which helped. The biggest highlight for us was hiring bikes for the full 10 days. We really enjoyed cycling around the park and out to local areas. And watching our son gain in confidence in riding his bike on all the cycle paths is something I won’t ever forget.

Family holiday (10 and 8 yr old). Pool was great and kids loved it. Could get a bit busy but fine if timed it right. Staff were outstanding. Super friendly and spoke an impressive number of languages. Have done a number of uk Centre parcs and don’t usually bother with activities as don’t usually rate the value for money in uk, but did lots more here - activities were reasonably priced and felt like enough time (as opposed to endless health and safety in uk). Kids loved the otters, really nice having lots of animals on site. Only thing missing on site was a gym (if I was being picky), but snow centre and water park were really nice and again staff were super friendly and kind with kids. Accommodation looked a bit sad from outside but clean and totally fine inside. Our lodge had an incredible view of the lake, geese ducks and rabbits right outside the window was nice. Entertainment every night was a nice extra- the show was pretty decent quality with talented performers/singers. Weird incident where someone put their lock round our hire bike. Spoke to the site staff and a man with an angle grinder arrived and had it off within 30 mins. Overall had a great holiday and suspect we’ll be back.

Brilliant stay. Aqua Mundo was fabulous. The cottage was clean and comfortable with plenty of appliances for self catering. Atmosphere was great. Such friendly staff at the cycle centre, great quality bikes. Beautiful surroundings - the otter pond was an absolute favourite. Evergreenz buffet was lovely as you can sit by the window with a view of the lake. Food is pricey but to be expected.
