Uncommoner Hotel by Reverie Boutique Collection

First off let me say the place was exceptionally clean. It smelled good and the bed was very comfortable. That said, that part of the motel we stayed in was tired. From the keys needed to open the doors to the decor, the place was worn. I would stay there again but if you want modern amenities this is not the place. If you want a clean, affordable place to rest after a day exploring the Cape, stay here. The pool hit the spot after a day in the ocean. The other guests made it feel like we were staying with family!

The room was nothing like the pictures on the internet. The room itself was dingy at best. Air conditioning intake was covered in dust and dirt. They stress family owned. However, I do not think the family would even stay here. I spent over 3000 nights in hotel rooms over the course of 25 years of work travel. This is not the worst I have stayed in. However, it made the top 2.

The room was clean and comfortable bed only basics no coffee maker microwave in room Upon checking in I had to pay 100 dollars not sure what it was for. Was not told ahead of time of this charge. What If I wouldn’t of had extra 100 dollars to pay upfront? It left a bad taste in my mouth I should of been informed ahead of time of this charge

This stay was irritating and embarrassing. Made reservation online in good faith. When I got to the hotel, the office was closed. Fine. I called and was directed to drive to another door to check-in. Stood in a HALLWAY while my check-in was processed on a laptop...nothing prepared for my arrival...no preprinted sign in for a room already paid for... THEN they DEMAND an ADDITIONAL deposit of $200 because of my address!!!! I reviewed the listing and there was absolutely NOTHING in their fine print indicating that an address they deemed "local" (?) would be charged an additional fee. I showed it to the night manager and asked her where this policy was written. She ACKNOWLEDGED that this policy was not stated ANYWHERE, but she REFUSED to let me check in unless I had agreed to the extra fee. What am I supposed to do at 11pm? She was holding my room hostage. When I checked into the room, there was damage to a mirror, a bar missing from the towel rack, a chunk of wood missing from the dresser the TV was on, damage to the shower bar in the room. Not in good condition at all. I called the night manager and insisted she document it. As a regular traveler and user of ********** I felt abused, mistrusted, and lied to. I insisted that they inspect my room and sign off that there was no damage to the room before I left. After all...if they can't be trusted to honor and follow their own policies, how can I trust them to not charge me for damages in a room that were there before I checked in?

No I wouldn’t go back. Room was not very clean. Very dark. Extremely old furniture and no luggage stand. Uncomfortable chairs. Overall just old and outdated. Location was good Resturant was closed for the season

The Tidewater Inn is run down and outdated. Our room was gross and dirty. The toilet fixtures were rusty, there was a gross stain on the toilet seat lid which did not come off, the shower curtain rod was falling apart, the bathroom tile was peeling and moldy, and the shower did not drain fast enough so we had to take showers in ankle deep water. There was a fridge and microwave. The WiFi was very slow and intermittent. Do not be fooled by the pictures they put up on their website. I should have taken more pictures, but attached are a few I did take. If this wasn't bad enough, we checked in a little past 10:00 pm just as the front desk was closing. Our reservation said check-in was open until 12:00 midnight, but they were already closing at 10:00 pm. We settled into our room, ran out to get a quick bite to eat and then returned. We turned the air conditioner on and went to bed. Unfortunately for us the air conditioner turned on, but after a while we realized it was not blowing any cold air, only hot room temperature air. Our room remained very hot and never cooled down and we could not sleep. We tried to call the motel telephone number a few times that night, but there was no answer as the front desk was closed. We did not sleep because it was so hot and we had to cancel reservations for a bicycle trip we had scheduled the next day since we were so tired and we forfeited our deposit. We spoke with the front desk in the morning and they did give us a new room. The a/c did work in this new room, but this room was just as distgusting as the first room. We asked to speak with the manager, but were told he wasn't available and he would call us. He never called us. We checked out the next day and again asked to speak with the manager. We were again told he wasn't available but he would call us which again he never did. We tried calling him a couple of times over the next few days, but kept getting the same story that he was not availble. Needless to say our short Cape Cod vacation was ruined. We will never stay in this dump again.
