WOW! What a magical place. The private island luxury resort of Bawe is truely something from another world. The island ist beautiful, with turquoise water and spacious villas (all with a private pool!). There are many activities if you want, but it is also great just to relax. The food is exceptional and there is a wide range of choices, of course including fresh seafood but also some Italian treats due to the Italian owners and executive chef from Italy. What made my time on Bawe so special is the people there. You are always greeted with a smile everywhere! I will miss these sunsets, too!

Bawe island resort is one of the most luxurious resorts I have ever experienced! From the day we arrived we were welcomed and treated in such an exceptional manner. My husband and I decided to celebrate our 21 year wedding anniversary at Bawe and it was the best decision we made! A special dinner was set up on the beach with amazing food and drinks! We had a water villa which is large and spacious in size. The amenities are of very high quality with ultra soft luxurious towels and bedding which seemed still brand new! Each villa has its swimming pool and has the most amazing views of the ocean. The beach is stunning with turquoise blue water, and there are many water sports offered. My kids enjoyed the scuba diving, jet ski, tube ride, kayak and just swimming in the warm waters. The pool is also absolutely gorgeous. This felt like we were on holiday again in the Maldives! A very big Thank you to the GM and Samuela (Guest relations manager) for upgrading my kids to the zanzibar villa - they cannot stop talking about this to their friends and family. Special thanks to Preetam, Ju and not forgetting our butler Edwin who took care of our every need in making our stay so extra special. We had the best time at Bawe Island and hope to return in the near future!

Our stay at Bawe Island Resort was exceptional! From the moment we arrived on the dock, we felt welcome. The staff are sweet, sincere, kind and always exceeding our expectations. The Management Team are skilled and client focussed. Very comfortable villas, very tasty food and drink. Take a snorkelling trip to see the varied and very healthy coral. One of my new favourite travel spots. We willlook for more Cocoon properties in the future. Thank you to the entire Team for making us feel so welcome❤️

A fabulous new private island resort located about 20 minutes by boat from Stonetown. We absolutely loved the well appointed spacious villas and thought they were beautifully designed and with careful attention to detail - they really are quite something! The island is stunning with a beautiful white sand beach and sand bank leading off it with crystal clear sea. It had a similar feel to that of a Maldivian island with an impressive main swimming pool and one road running around the island but there are buggys available for anyone that doesnt want to walk in the heat. There are 4 restaurants serving a range of food from Italian, Western/Fusion and also a Chefs table which was our favourite meal. They also offer theme evenings - laid on 3 nights a week. These were well organised and very enjoyable - in particular, we loved the African evening followed by the White Evening ( the sax player was fab,as was the DJ Steven). Above all, the staff at Bawe were amazing. They were so attentive and thoughtful with my elderly mother and went beyond to make sure that she was always ok. In addition, they were all so genuinely friendly and clearly all loved their jobs. This, to me, is so important as happy engaging staff equates to happy guests. In particular, Fadhila ( our butler), Steven, William, Margret, Agnes and our housekeeper Aisha particularly stood out.

The stay has been extremely fullfilling. The restaurants offered a great variety of cuisines and overall culinary experiences. The crystal clear water, together with the excellent beach service made our swims and sun bathing moments unforgettable. A special thanks goes to all the staff, specifically to Edwin, who made our stay better than we would have ever expected. Thanks to Samuela and all the chefs too.

Beautiful property, accommodations are stunning, large villas with beautiful decor and exceptional housekeeping by Veronica. Our butler Beno went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. What bothered us the most was the company of fellow guests who treated staff like lesser human beings, no thank you, no please, just very commanding angry tones. The transfer from Stonetown to Bawe Island can be very choppy and took longer than anticipated.

We have spent the most wonderful days at magic Bawe Island. Everything was perfect! We loved our villa, the surroundings with the pool area, the sun set bar, beach and restaurants. But most wonderful was the hotel personnel! Felicia, Elisabeth, Agness and the rest of the team really made us feel at home with their service and always a smile. We really want to come back.

This one of the most magical places my family and my myself have ever stayed. When we got to Zanzibar we were on search of a true 5 star resort and Bawe island resort is it!! It’s an absolute stunning resort with a beautiful beach with Seychelles like waters. The pool was amazing. The whole place had a calm tranquil feeling. It’s so clean and well groomed. Our guest Room was gorgeous and decorated so well. The furnishing were beautiful everything was perfect down to the small details. Staff was constantly around to make sure you were always well taken care of. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a resort where I was so well taken care of. It made the vacation. Drinks were some of the best I’ve ever had thanks to Ju. He actually made our stay very fun with all his new cocktails he’d make up for us. Truly great at his job. My 3 boys loved kids camp and the lovely gal who ran it my kids still talk about her and the fact they got to play Fortnite. We also had Asifiwe, who helped us out with alllllll our resort questions and needs thank you Asifiwe. Restaurants were delicious. Everything was a la cart ❤️❤️ Make sure to try the lasagna and pizza at the Italian restaurant we couldn’t get enough. The dinning was always an experience with, singing, dancing, live shows even tapenaki! Everyone was so welcoming and it was such an experience we will never forget it. We are still talking about it. And when friends and family ask me what my favorite part of our 5 week trip was, I always say Bawe island. It’s a must!
