Tranquil awesome hidden gem across from ricks cafe easy taxi access to kilometres to downtown right on the beach individual Bungalow with ice cold Aircon ( Believe me this is Jamaica!) king bed, TV, outdoor shower, pool, privacy and Jordan the owner is an absolute gem of a person. Wonderful stay for past few days can on highly recommend and a selection of rooms for your needs at great prices

I stayed at this property recently and the owner was incredibly racist towards me personally. He will make excuses but he refused to communicate with me and only wanted my money. Racist establishment. I wouldn't advice anybody of color to book this place. Staff are amazing. But the owner is a RACIST.

What a gem to find this place! I stayed for two days and did not want to leave! Points to note: 1. Cozy 2. Extremely clean, 3. Very safe (24-hour security) 4. Friendly and accommodating host 5. Cleaning available upon request 6. Clean Pool Upon entering the premises I felt as though I had entered the Garden of Eden! Fruit trees (with names on each) along with ornamental plants surround each cottage. If you want a safe, eco-friendly escape from the city, this is it! No regrets at all! Will be back soon. We were three friends initially planning to stay for 1 week but we liked this place so much that we decided to extend our stay here by another week. When you enter the place you'll find yourself in a green garden with cottages amongst fruit trees all around. Our cottage was clean spacious and had everything we needed in order to prepare ourselves a meal. The staff is super friendly, forthcoming, and generally took great care of us. We can definitely recommend Bak a Yaad and hope to be able to come back one day.

Bak a Yaad is a place that has cottages, single room suites, as well as a hostel, all in the same area. I stayed in a cottage. The cottage was quiet, clean and spacious, with a very comfortable king sized bed with a wide screen tv (and netflix). I really loved the outdoor shower as well. There was a mix-up with my booking, and Jordan worked above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. Perfect location, friendly and helpful staff: Highly recommended!

A Magical Place: When I arrived at Bak A Yaad on February 4th I was greeted with such warm and friendly faces. It was at that moment I felt safe as a lone traveler. I started my stay in one of the hostels which was comfortable. It was nice to take advantage of the community kitchen where I could cook meals or use the refrigerator to put food and drinks. The community area is also nice because you can hangout, play games, and even meet other guests from all over the world. About half way through my stay I had the opportunity to switch to one of the cottages which are hard to come across because they book up fast. I absolutely LOVE the cottages. It allows for privacy and you have your own kitchenette, tv, and private bathroom. There were days I just wanted to lay in bed and relax because the place is THAT nice. While the property is BEAUTIFUL and CLEAN what really makes this place a magical experience is indeed the staff. From day one they became my family. Allecia checked me in and that was a smooth process. As we walked to the hostel I met Ms. Elaine or as I call her “Mama Elaine.” They are the most BEAUTIFUL souls that I have ever met! Then, I met CJ who is very nice and keeps up with the landscaping, in which he does an amazing job. You really feel like you’re in a jungle. Lastly, I met Jordan and Joanna. Such AMAZING souls/host Honestly, there are no real words to describe how much they made my stay SO COMFORTABLE and made me feel like I was at home. The best thing I can say is just stay there so you can have the same magical experience that I had for 10 days! I love and appreciate each and every one of them! We were reluctant to stay in a place with a shared bathroom but the price was great. The room & restroom was sparkling clean. The landscaping was beautifully maintained. Jordan was always available & extremely helpful. The location is directly across from Rick’s Cafe (rated a top 10 beach bars in the world with cliff jumping). The pool is small but very clean & nice. We always felt safe & could walk to several great places to eat or get happy hour drinks. Route taxis are inexpensive & we’re always nearby. We would love to return to Bak A Yaad!

This is an amazing gem of a hotel/hostel! The grounds are filled with well cared for plants and gorgeous huge trees with various sized cabins and a building: rooms upstairs and and dorms below, a very pretty pool, wonderful common areas (best couches ever) , kitchen, ping pong table, big tv with netfix etc, lights in the trees at night, very secure gate, wonderful staff and super helpful owners. The furniture was new and super comfortable, the grounds were beautiful and big enough not to run into other guests, the area was quiet at night, and there was always staff or owner around to help with whatever we needed. We checked out other places but none compared so we spent our entire vacation here. Lovely place!
