Just returned from a weeks stay at one of the cottages at Trimstone. A lovely family break surrounded by the beautiful Devon countryside. The cottage had everything needed for a self catering break, the swimming pool was fantastic, we had it to ourselves most evenings. Our two teenage boys really appreciated the pool table and table tennis in the games room and often chose that rather than spending time on their phones (even though the WiFi was excellent). The staff were really friendly and helpful and the hotel gardens were lovely to walk around and sit in, especially with the added bonus of watching the peacock roaming around. Would not hesitate to back.

A traditional old country house situated about 1/2 mile down a narrow country lane certainly a very rural setting. We stayed in the hotel and not self catering cottages that are also available. Our room had wonderful views over the countryside. The room was clean and tidy. Certainly a very warm and friendly welcome on arrival from Rhianne who was extremely helpful during our stay. No evening meal available during our stay. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order. EV charging available on site for extra cost. Enjoyable stay.

I booked one of the self catering cottages on site due to the ‘superb’ rating and 10 out of 10 for cleanliness. On arriving it’s impossible to see how either of these were justified. The whole complex is rundown, shabby and dated. The furniture in our cottage was ancient, the dining table sticky despite repeatedly being wiped over, the oven was disgusting, the kitchen tap leaked profusely and the pans and crockery woefully inadequate. I had to buy a new saucepan and baking trays to cook the one evening meal we had there. The whole experience was disappointing and sadly like the before rather than the after in a renovation show. It needs a serious makeover.

When we arrived the staff and owners were really welcoming. Nothing was to much trouble and always someone available. The grounds and facilities so relaxing. The Emu's, Turkeys, Ducks, Chickens a delight to watch and so well looked after. We stayed in Lee and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoable. We will be going back to delightful Trimstone

Interesting place. Fantastic staff. Lovely room. Made to feel very welcome. Felt part of the family. Best welcome ever. Wonderful garden with different birds we could sit in outside our room. The emus and turkeys especially. Bed was very comfortable. Very quiet location. Was lovely to hear owls and see bats.

Trimstone Manor is an absolutely delightful hotel for a getaway. The staff are very friendly, the grounds are beautiful and peaceful, and the rooms are comfortable. It’s nicely located near the sea where the waves are great for surfing! I had the pleasure of meeting the owners who are very welcoming and lovely people. Also, when I lost a valuable item, the hotel went out of their way to help reunite me with it! Amazing place to stay all round and I would highly recommend.

Delightful hotel in the heart of North Devon. Came here for a hen party and the staff were wonderful! Very accommodating and exceptionally friendly. Beds were exceptionally comfortable and the grounds were so pretty. Games room and pool were lovely as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Trimstone manor for a summer holiday girls group trip. The rooms were clean, tidy and well presented. It is a more traditional property so enjoy the charm. Rhianne the hotel manager is absolutely brilliant, she is very welcoming and accommodating and made our stay go smoothly. She served us fantastic breakfasts on both days with an extensive choice of options. There were also lovely gardens which were very well kept. Thank you!

We spent the weekend at Trimstone Manor for our friend’s hen do and we could not have asked for a better host than Rhianne! She was absolutely incredible- attending to our every need from accommodating us with our sporadic check-in times to cooking up a massive breakfast before our activities! She great and we could not have asked for a better host!
