Jacaranda Guest House

Jacaranda Guest House is a very old house that has been converted into several rooms and out buildings. Quite old fashioned, but comfortable. Husband and I stayed in the old house, two joined bedrooms with an ensuite. Double bed (I’m 170cm so just fitted) and a single bed with a big bathroom. Set well off the street behind a lovely garden there was no road noise. Very quiet in the house, so much so that we could hear the other guests speaking in the dining room at breakfast and room next door. Not really a problem as we were out most of the time and up early anyway. Off street parking in the wide driveway. Breakfast was included and there was plenty. Three kinds of toast, several spreads, fruit, cereal, coffee, tea and yoghurt. A guest kitchen with fridge and a sink supplied with tea, coffee and snacks anytime. There was a tv in a shared lounge with rather old but clean sofas. I understand the place has been sold. No idea what new management will do but it suited our needs being very close to the event space for Busso100.

Trying to be unbiased and say truthfully what was our experience. We booked the triple room -4, thinking a bit of extra space would be good. One bed was a double but old style double which is shorter than the newer doubles and therefore too short in length for my husband. The lady was rude and flatly refused to do anything about it. She was in our room each day to supposedly clean the room but only the bin was cleared and beds never made nor were toiletries replenished. Small poky room not meant for a couple and should not be advertised as such. We stayed just one night out of 3, forfeited our booking and came back home earlier than planned.
