Warkworth House Hotel

This was a last minute booking to just ‘get away for a night’. I’m so glad this was the only hotel I could find with a vacancy! We received a warm welcome from a young lady on reception who was still there at 10:30 the same evening and back the next day at 7:30 yet always ready with a smile. We stayed in room 2 which was bright but cozy and absolutely spotless. I like to sleep with a window open and was slightly concerned about road noise but, thanks to the comfy bed, we slept soundly. We only used the restaurant for breakfast which was tasty and plentiful. All the staff were friendly and smiley which is a huge plus - I cannot abide miseries who choose hospitality as a career. Can’t wait to stay again ☺️

Proper hotel with excellent atmosphere - warmth and old fashioned hospitality in abundance. Not ‘fancy pants’ just good honest fayre delivered with a genuine smile. Very comfortable room and bathroom, great linen and super clean. (Please dispense with horrible captive hangers!!). Fresh milk is very welcome and a great idea. Characterful and really good value and a million miles away from so called luxury chain hotels. We will definately return

In the heart of the picturesque village of Warkworth this is by far the best food. We recently enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch with family. Everyones meal was delicious and the shared vegetable turines were served nice and hot. Staff are lovely too.

The hotel was clean warm as the welcome was as well. The room was clean and all the amenities you could wish for and we loved the idea of fresh milk in communal fridges in the corridors. Breakfast & evening were great, overall a great atmosphere in the hotel,would we do a return stay definitely.

We had an excellent experience during our brief stay. All the staff we met - on reception and in the restaurant - were friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated with a big, comfy bed, and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Getting a space in the car park was a bonus. We couldn't ask for more.

Visited this hotel in the hope of a quiet & calm oasis away from my Chemo treatment, and I wasn't disappointed. All the staff from start to finish of our 2 night stay were friendly & treated us like treasured guests, nothing too much bother. Stayed in Room 2 on first floor, which even though it faced the main street, traffic didn't bother us. Both Tea & coffee making facilities were provided, as was a little milk bottle in the mini fridge, and the bathroom was well stocked with gels & shampoos. Bed very comfortable, best nights sleep in ages. Interestingly, being a Georgian building. the hotel has settled a little bit and the floor in the room was a little quirky, but that added to the experience, not a drawback. Breakfast very good with lots of choice; Yogurts, pastries, cereals, fruit, fruit juice, full fry, kippers, salmon, and my favourite, Eggs Benedict; all washed down with as much tea & coffee you could handle. In fact a great way to start the day. We also ate in the hotel restaurant, No 16, food was good, see different review. As regards parking, there are about 10 spaces at the back of the hotel, otherwise park in Dial square. Overall a great 2 night stay. I achieved my respite (staff never knew I was under treatment), and have earmarked a return visit in the next few months.
