Wangdue EcoLodge

Charming ecolodge with traditional Bhutanese architecture and character. The rooms and bathrooms and large and spacious. They have 3 adorable cats, a courteous and friendly team, and a really great views. Highly recommend it!

Wonderful small property with great staff and attitude. The home cooked dinner though a bit expensive was delicous. The rooms very large and comfortable. Keyang wonderful chap and his staff excellent. Great location for visit to Punakha. The view of the Dzong and mountains absolutely wonderful. Get the upper level rooms. Tips for travellers their payment system/ gateway is not so good so discuss with them and as many other travellers have said the access road is not good at all

The Wangdue ecolodge resort is located at an amazing place with spectacular views of Wangdi Dzong. The location is a bit remote and due to which the approach roads were not very good. But once you reach there, the views are absolutely worth it. When we arrived at the hotel, the manager very well explained us the special characteristics of the resort and its eco-friendly attributes. He and his family have taken care of us very well during our stay over here, especially the breakfast was a delight because we had it in the open area overlooking the Wangdi valley. We had a small problem of the balcony door being stuck, but it was fixed promptly. The food here is all locally sourced and prepared in house. Overall, an amazing stay recommended for Families for sure .

Wangdue Eco Lodge was the gentle exhale. Another stop on our soul retreat, and another sacred space that gave so much more than we expected. Tucked in the hills, this place feels like a soft whisper from nature. Every room has a balcony with the kind of view that silences the mind and opens the heart. You sit there and everything just slows down. You remember how to listen — to the breeze, the birds, yourself. The lodge is built with such thoughtfulness. Earthy, warm, connected to its surroundings — it truly lives up to its name. It felt like nature was holding us, supporting the inner work we came to do. Sonam and the team were, again, beyond amazing. Genuine care, effortless kindness, and a sense of family. They made everything feel easy. Though this place felt different from Paro, the peace was the same. It gave us space to feel, to reflect, to be. I will never forget the moments of laughter, the shared smiles, the view that said everything without a single word. Wangdue was a gentle reminder that sometimes the most powerful healing happens in the quietest places. Thank you. Until then.

When we visited Punakha and Phobjikha valley, got the chance to stay here. It is a property which is out of town and very silent place to be at. Gives you a feeling of a farm and the view looks really nice in the morning and afternoon but night is very sad. The team of wangdue ecolodge is sweet and supportive. I recommend if you are coming with a group then definitely a great place to be at. The food is nice but should work on the lights more and it will be a great property.

The staff is friendly and catering to your needs and the rooms are cozy and have a great view of the river and local zhong. The location is remote and the road to get there is not well made so be ready for 10 minutes of little discomfort and once you reach you’ll be happy with the place. Small but efficient and good food. Though ask for restaurant prices
