Ohiwa Seascape Studios

Secluded studio apartments, well appointed and modern decor. Very large spa bath which makes showering somewhat difficult as it is very high sided and makes getting in and out difficult. Steep driveway and many wooden steps to carry luggage up.

Location is amazing. Vista is incredible. Great garden setting to see the Vista. Cabin is nice. Bed was too hard and low. The worst parking experience ever. Driving into the very steep property off a narrow country road is naturally challenging. However the owner has placed rocks on either side of this very narrow driveway so guests won't drive on the grass. He also has a sign there informing guests that 3 cars have hit the rock. It reads something like Rock 3. Cars 0. The humour content is lost on the fact that 3 paying customers cars have so far hit the rock. The Driveway entrance needs work. Not humour. The actual car park access is so steep with very acute angle entrance that it's a nightmare. My first attempt at parking while someone else was trying to exit almost resulted in damage to my vehicle. The owner came out and directed us but it was just a horrible experience. It was made worse by his own car being parked in the way. I refused to park there after that. There is a nice flat area on the other side but it's in lawn which we weren't allowed to use. There is no disability access anywhere here. Elderly would struggle. Very minimal toiletry supplies. We ran out of soap satchets. Sad to see. Price is OK but does not mitigate the above experience.

Excellent studio facility in peaceful private location. Host responded promptly and cheerfully to any questions. We enjoyed the walk up the steep hill through the reserve nearby down to the Ohiwa Beach Holiday Park and back along the beach. There are also interesting birding sites in nearby areas. The heated bathroom floor was novel and nice.

Such a great location, set in native bushland and close to the beach and walking tracks. We had the upstairs Honey Loft which gave us plenty of inside and outside space, with views to the beach. Excellent facilities, everything was very clean and comfortable. Ideal for self-catering. Stephan was a wonderful host which was much appreciated

Absolutely fabulous. Stayed in well-equipped and beautiful Honey Loft apartment. Owner friendly and informative. Building in bushland setting with glimpses of sea from windows, very relaxing environment. Short uphill stroll behind the apartment, sit on the seat to view beautiful scenery (photo). Would certainly stay at Ohiwa Seascape Studios again.

Perfect stopover for overnight though was hard to leave as so quiet and tranquil amongst the native trees and birdsong. Out of the way across from the long stretching Ohope Beach but close enough drive to cafes and such if needed. Would be perfect as a couples retreat.
