Their service and cleanness were terrible. The quality of the breakfast is so bad. They didn’t even vacuum and clean the room before our checking. Their service in Resturant and in reception of hotel was terrible. I am not recommended at all. It was the terrible hotel I have ever been there. It was not clean at all!!

It was quite new resorts next to the ski center Long waiting at check-in due to only reception on the phone for 20min. Finally get help from the service desk next door. Excellent Service from Waiter & Waitress inside the Restaurant. Will want to stay again.

We arrived at the hotel rather late and had to leave early the following morning so our stay was very short. However the room was very nice . There was a kettle but no cups or complimentary coffee and when I questioned this the man in reception told me that their budget didn't run to free coffee ( incredible in such an expensive hotel )

Fantastic hotel in a beautiful location. Perfect for skiing, especially amongst family and friends. Many of the guests travelled up from nearby Bergen, they clearly appreciated everything this hotel has to offer too. Highly recommended.

We stayed mid Feb (over half term) in interconnecting rooms on a bed, breakfast and evening meal basis. We flew Gatwick to Bergen on Norwegian Air. Arrival:- Norwegian Air were fine so not sure why so many people complain about them! We were on the plane less time than in the coach for our transfer! Bergen Airport – organised, clean and quick (immigration and luggage collection). Hotel organised transfer and driver was waiting as we walked out of final security. Transfer was in a nice coach and took 2 hours there and just over on the way back due to traffic on a Sunday. Upon arrival at the hotel check in was relatively quick although info was a little lacking re ski passes, ski collection, lockers etc. Our ski pass QR code didn’t work on the machines in the hotel so we walked next door and they were really helpful and sorted. There are ski lockers but they are limited to approx. 30 – none available when we arrived but one became available the next day. There is boot and ski storage which probably out of school holidays is less manic. Ski hire – hectic on day 1 and first lesson start was delayed as a result. We pre-ordered our equipment which helped so if you can then I would suggest doing that. Ski’s and boots were good, helmets limited at the start but then we swapped after the initial rush calmed down. Rooms – comfortable beds and pillows. One room had a sofa and the other a balcony (good for chilling drinks!). Bathroom was adequate and storage area had plenty of hooks and enough hanging space. Restaurants – upon arrival we were given a dining schedule for the week where we had to chose where and when we ate (one meal in Nuten Fondue and one in Tunet). Breakfast was a buffet style in Restaurant Nuten – it was busy from 7:30 but gets quieter from 8:30 onwards as people move from food to skiing preparation. Good selection of bread (no toaster), pancakes, cooked breakfast options, pastries yogurt and fruit. Evening meal was a set 3 course dinner but you could choose from the menu if you wanted. Good variety of drinks at the expected high prices. Fondue was lovely (meat and cheese) and meal in Tunet was really good. Lunch was either in Kamben, Fjellstova Vetlebotn or Myrkdalsstovo – food and drinks were nice in each. FV, in our opinion for lunch, had the most selection and was pretty cool being up in the mountains. For those who are less experienced the red run to it and from it back to the blues was easy. Skiing – was excellent for us. Our 2 kids were beginners and with 5 morning lessons by the end of the week were doing jumps and blue/red runs. One of the lifts was out of order for most of the time we were there but they kept other lifts open for longer to compensate. We rarely queued for a lift which was brilliant. There was so much snow and whilst temperatures were below zero we didn’t feel cold. The slopes Mon-Fri were quiet but at the weekend were slightly busier. On the Saturday we did the cruise which was brilliant

We are on a winter holiday with a larger group. There are many people and it gives a good atmosphere. The room is clean and a bit small for three people and skiing gear. We’ve plenty of snow and enjoy the slopes and the excellent possibilities for off-piste skiing. The restaurants are good and the personal very friendly. The only thing I miss is a huge sauna.

We visited this hotel out of season and there was a lack of facilities for guests. There was no gym, pool, the chair lift was closed and the walks were not clearly signed. The hotel was quiet, the restaurant staff were very friendly, but on a rainy day, there is nothing to do here.

First restaurant - the target one of course - closed, the second ‘only for groups’ - so not for the two of us. Stuck in the pizza place - really not ok with the ‘Sorry, I normally don’t work here’ line and an average burger for dinner. Rooms are super nice, but that’s it then. Reception - gone. ‘Will be back’ Parking, one big dustbin with building material. Wifi not covered well. And if all of this was at summer rates - fine. But at 2320 this is misleading and feels like a ripoff.

Unfortunately the hotel site is under construction as of July 2023. Very noisy and dusty. Car parking is in construction site. Rooms are nice but the view is of construction site and trucks. Would not return in the summer.

My wife and I stayed at the Myrkdalen Hotel for 6 nights in March 2023. The hotel is in an excellent position with the ski hire shops directly opposite and the main chairlift just 50 m from the boot room exit. Most hotel rooms are the same, although with hindsight, we wished we’d asked for a room at the rear, overlooking the ski slopes rather than at the front (hills in the distance but car park below). Powerful shower in the bathroom. Unusually, no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but there’s a free machine in the reception area. There are ski lockers in a boot room off the reception area with easy access to the slopes. The hotel food, in general, was excellent. But no croissants or pastries at breakfast! We were on a half board tariff which meant that we ate in the Nuten restaurant (a la carte available if not half board) most nights but were allowed one night in the Tunet (pizza) and one night in the separate Nuten fondue restaurant. There was no choice in the half board three course menu in the Nuten and, strangely, the menu on the Saturday was exactly the same as on the Thursday. We usually had just one glass of wine each (about £10/glass) with the evening meal – a bottle would have been around £50-60 minimum. Very nice bar/lounge area in the hotel but beer prices are eye-wateringly Norwegian (about £12 per 0.6 litre). Our ski company had arranged taxi transfers for us (via the hotel) from Bergen airport – it takes 2 to 2-1/2 hours depending on the traffic, with spectacular fjord and mountain views en-route.

Had a good and fast checked in despite arriving late (past 9pm) due to the snow. The hotel was very kind to keep our food warm despite passing the restaurant’s closing time. Really appreciate this gesture. Room was good and comfortable and we had a good sleep!
