La Maison Bleue

I booked online for a room for 1 night at this hotel in mid March (for June arrival) and received confirmation and reservation number. Arrived for the first night of a 2 week tour of France in mid June and they claimed they didn't have a booking. I showed them the reservation details and they rolled their eyes and luckily they were not fully booked and found a room for me. The room they gave me was a lower grade /cheaper room than I had originally reserved. No offer was made to refund the difference to me and I was too tired and frustrated to argue the difference. My suggestion is to re-confirm any bookings prior to arrival at this hotel. On a positive note the breakfast was satisfactory and plentiful (if it was not then I would have given them 2 stars!).

This is a long overdue review. I want to say what a beautiful hotel this is and how amazing the owner is. We travelled to Villereal from the UK in May 2023. We booked the hotel for 4 nights but on the evening of the first night we got a call that my brother had been taken poorly and we needed to return home. (We had a 16 hour drive) we tried to get some sleep but I was too upset) In the morning we told the owner that we had to check out and could we settle our bill. (We were happy to pay the full amount as it was not the hotels fault that we needed to leave). The lady said she would sort it out and send us the bill later. We packed the car and she wanted us to have some breakfast but we wanted to set off due to the long journey, she said hold on and rushed off and returned with warm croissants for us to take with us. She was extremely caring. We got an email a few days later to say that we didn’t need to pay anything! Not even for the night we had stayed there. This was such a kind and generous thing for the owner to do. We are extremely grateful and would highly recommend this hotel. I should add that the rooms are quite lovely, the hotel has a real French ambience, the decor is fabulous. I would like to say a huge thank you to La Maison Bleue for being so very kind. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to write this review but it has been a sad time.

Si vous aimez séjourner dans de "vraies" chambres d'hôtes et donc bénéficier d'un accueil personnalisé, passez votre chemin. Les prestations, la maison et les chambres sont très correctes mais l'accueil est déplorable. Le propriétaire vous montre la chambre à toute vitesse car visiblement il a d'autres choses à faire et ne vous demande pas comme de coutume si vous savez où diner le soir. La conversation du petit-déjeuner avec la propriétaire se résume à "Avez-vous bien dormi?". Aucune autre question et pourtant elle est juste à côté de vous pendant tout le petit-déjeuner. Bref elle semble plus intéressée par son business de salon de thé pour dames anglaises (et les gâteaux qui vont avec) que par s'enquérir de savoir si vous avez besoin de quoi que ce soit comme information ou tout simplement d'avoir une conversation avec vous.

Nous avons été extrêmement bien reçues à "La Maison Bleue". Maison au grand charme, au calme (et pourtant à quelques pas du centre du village), hygiène irréprochable , petits déjeuners de réelle qualité et généreux (produits frais). Les propriétaires sont vraiment bienveillants . Nous vous recommandons cette BELLE EXPÉRIENCE.
