Once we got through the usual chaos at Male Airport, including waiting over an hour for the luggage to come off the plane, things got better once on the seaplane to Vilamendhoo. On setting foot on the island we had a wonderful greeting by the staff and then received a personal briefing from guest services, followed by a brief tour of the facilities and taken to our villa. In summary, we had an absolute wonderful time on the island, all the staff are attentive, helpful, friendly and personable. Food at the buffet was varied and very tasty, the Asian Wok restaurant food was fabulous. The island is spotless, the facilities well maintained, our beach villa was clean, didn't look tired and had everything we needed. Always had towels inside our villa and by the pools and our sunbeds. House reef was just a stones throw away from the beach, with a multitude of different fish to observe whilst snorkelling. Almost everyday we saw Turtles, Moray eels, Sting Rays, Eagle Rays, Reef Sharks, also saw Lion fish. We did a full day excursion to see more turtles and also saw Manta Rays and Whale Sharks... a must do! A special mention to Zaidh our waiter, whom we laughed and told stories with, our holiday would not of been the same without him. We miss him already.
