Son Spa

The room was definitely tinier than in the picture, felt very small. Bed wasn't really comfortable either. I guess at least they hard sockets for chargin the phone on both sides? The breakfast bouffet was nice, a lot of variety and not full of people so very easy to relax during it. At night the dude at the bar said they were derving drinks until midnight. It was 9pm and when asked for a drink he said "Oh there's no bartender today". Could've started there. The Spa facilities were okay enough, offering the typical hot/cold experiences. I believe you can get better value and location visiting the Well. Went there on a Sunday, almost not transport was circulating and forget about the taxi. Make arrangements with the hotel if you need a ride on a weekend. Had to walk almost 1 km with a suitacase in icy roads. Very very badly located. The view is beautiful so going for a walk before/after the Spa is very nice. Staff is nice and friendly, helped us get a taxi to get to the station. The bartender was a bit confused but I guess his heart was in the right place.

Perfect location for our board-meeting. Nice rooms. Beautiful location by the sea. Nice spa. The aufguss on the pier is amazing. The restaurant is good.

Comfortable bed. Standard room was a decent size. Nice decor, though a bit dark when you enter the lobby. Lots of nice outdoor space but the piped in music was obnoxious. Beatles, rod stewart, Olivia Newton-John. The type of music you like to sing along to in the car but not when you’re trying to have a quiet conversation or read a book. It did not add to the relaxed mood of the place. At 7:30 a.m. I was awakened by spa music for a group outside doing a type of yoga or stretching.

We travelled to Son Spa from the UK as a couple, not really knowing what to expect. We discovered Son Spa through Choice Rewards (previously Radisson US) so booked 2 nights in the one-bedroom balcony suite using points. Really easy drive from Oslo airport (OSL), lots of car hire options (and large proportion are electric cars - there are charging points everywhere). As it was an early flight, we arrived before check-in time, but was welcomed warmly by the reception staff. As the room was already available they let us check-in straight away. Lovely room with separate living room, and outdoor balcony looking out past the marina. Easy walk to Son, a coastal town 10-15 minutes away, where there is a couple of restaurants, a supermarket and an amazing bakery (tucked underneath a building, but you will smell it!) Breakfast is included, large buffet selection, that you can enjoy indoors or outdoors. The spa is fantastic, with indoor and outdoor pools But our favourite bit of Son Spa is the Aufguss ritual (sauna experience on the floating sauna rafts) with wide glass windows looking out across the water. A massive thank you to Thorun and Lars who were so lovely, welcoming and inclusive. The smells they make by mixing different oils with ice before putting them into the sauna are so refreshing. You are ready to jump into the cold water outside afterwards! We were fortunate to be able to see the Northern Lights one evening from the pier as well as Jeløya. We have recommended Son Spa to all our friends and family, and would love to come back!

Wonderful escape hotel from the hustle and tussles of city life. nice scenery and a wonderful view. Large rooms, nice food and wonderful bar. Easy check in and check out. Facilities at the hotel are excellent with a SPA that beats all

Imagine waking up in bed with a panoramic view of the sea and sunrise. It is absolutely gorgeous, and at Son Spa they deliver. First you are greeted by lovely and welcoming people at reception. And then you come up to a lovely room that is clean, delicate, and with a probably good vibe. The spa experience is magic in itself, and both breakfast and dinner are top class. Train to Son Spa davell! You won't regret it.
