La Bégude Saint-Pierre

Booked on a last-minute website, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's alongside a busy road but the noise, despite always being there, didn't really bother us after a while. We had a small room with a lobby area which gave a little more space. It was clean and welcoming, with a fridge, safe and a welcome note from the owners. The bathroom could do with some updating for such a slick hotel. It was difficult to get in and out of the bath (where the shower was) because of the way the shower screen and wall were situated. There was no bath mat and nothing to hold on to to help. The bath was quite slippery! The pool area was fabulous. The sunbeds were strong and comfortable and weren't busy. Each one was provided with towels, a table and there were plenty of parasols to go round too. We had dinner in the (very quiet) restaurant one evening and it was marvellous but a little out of our price range for the rest of the week. Breakfast was lovely too, with a large selection of foods on offer and plenty of coffee to drink. Every member of staff we encountered was kind and courteous. A real credit to the team. WiFi - a bit hit and miss for us. We ended up using our phones in the room because the WiFi really didn't stretch that far. We had hoped to stream a movie in the evening but the signal wasn't strong enough.

Beautiful converted farmhouse in secluded location, but within easy reach of nearby villages. Lovely rooms, good aircon, comfortable beds. Good restaurant and excellent breakfast. Have stayed twice this year. Lovely pool with plenty of loungers and towels provided. Very relaxing feel and quiet.

Arrived a day in advance but they had a room to offer which was prestige. Spacious, overlooking quiet courtyard. Bathroom could do with upgrade as lighting poor, shower not to 4 star standards and restaurant required booking well in advance. First night we ate there was lovely. Wanted to again next night told was full, even for just a starter not possible only disappointment as no snacks offered with pool bar either. Lovely pool could do with a solution against getting feet all dirty with dead grass maybe. Lack of room amenities like nail file, would be handy and more cotton eye wipes. Great location close to Pont de Gard and Uzès for a delicious meal at Restaurant Le R when the hotel says they're too full even if extra tables stacked at side to be able to accommodate. Pet friendly and staff friendly.

The buildings are charming, although set right on the busiest highway between the Autoroute and Uzes, so there's quite a lot of traffic noise in many parts of the hotel. Despite what the description says, the WiFi is poor and does not work at all throughout much of the hotel. My room, #25 at the end of the hallway, had no internet access at all for the entire weekend. The rooms need a serious upgrade. The only chair in the room had large stains on the cushions. The floor was dirty and I didn't want to walk around without slippers. There were no plugs anywhere near any mirrors in the bathroom or in the room, making it an interesting challenge to dry my hair. The bathroom lighting is so poor that you must go out into the room to see anything. The bed is tolerably comfortable but the walls are thin and sounds in any portion of the hallway reverberate in the rooms. The grounds are nice in some parts but badly neglected in others. The pool looks nice. In short, there are a lot of hotels in this area, as well as chambres d'hote. Despite the lovely photos on the website, this is no four-star. Look around. You'll find something better.

This is an old stone farm building that has been beautifully modernized. It clean, comfortable in a rural setting away from town. It’s the perfect place to stay to visit the Pont du Gard. There a well marked foot path to the bridge. Friendly staff. We ate dinner here twice and it was lovely.

Nous avions réserver 2 nuits pour la Saint Valentin avec le repas spécial. Côté restauration rien à dire, nous avons très bien mangés avec un service impeccable. Côté chambre ce fut la grosse déception !! Nous avions réserver une chambre supérieur, j'avais préciser une chambre au calme, on nous a mis au dessus des cuisines !!! Du bruit jusqu'à 0h30 1h du mat et ensuite avec le vent une porte à claquer toute la nuit donc impossible de fermer l'œil, dommage car la literie avait l'air confortable, mais sans compter sur la grosse tâche de sang sur l'alèse que nous avions vus à travers le drap en ouvrant le lit en plus d'une tâche d'urine. Dans un 4* ceci est inadmissible voir même une honte !! Ménage approximatif, toile d'araignée et poussière, il serait bien de vérifier les chambres avant. Salle de bain vétuste, baignoire petite pour prendre une douche avec un revêtement qui partait à certains endroits et pas d'eau chaude !! Il y avait des trace de dentifrice sur le contour du miroir en bois et une forte odeur d'humidité. Le Wc n'arrêter pas de faire du bruit, sans doute à cause d'une fuite et propreté moyenne. Laisser un rouleau de papier toilette presque fini sur le dérouleur c'est pas possible !!! Le chauffage qui était extrêmement bruyant et nous avons remarquer que de l'air passer aux fenêtres (vieilles fenêtres) il serait bien d'investir dans un double vitrage car ayant la route à proximité elle se fait entendre le soir. Parking non fermer. Beau domaine mais manque d'entretien. Nous sommes partis après la 1ere nuit, aucun geste commerciale, une chose est sûr nous ne reviendrons pas et nous ne recommanderons pas le lieu !!
