Corte Realdi Suites Piazza Erbe

AMAZING EXPERIENCE IN VERONA! Stayed here five nights and wish it could have been longer. Our suite was beyond our expectations. We were amazed at the history of this exceptional residence and how it was restored to its current condition. Beautiful architecture, tastefully but elegantly decorated, clean, and exceptional staff that maintains this residence. Special thanks to Dennis for all the guidance and help he provided ! Very highly recommend a stay here. The location is absolutely perfect for anywhere you want to go in beautiful Verona.

This is a dishonest company. I left a piece of jewelry on the night stand next to my bed and realized it a couple hours after checking-out and immediately contacted the hotel. First they didn’t get back to me at all. Then they said someone would get back to me soon. That never happened. Then when I inquired again they said “oh we thought we got back to you.” And of course, they had not collected it to return to me. That’s just bold face lying. Shame on me for leaving it there. But when you stay at a supposedly five-star property spending $2,500 for three nights, I expect honesty, not theft. As far as the “hotel” it’s really not a hotel. It’s a collection of air-b-and-b’s pretending to be a hotel in older run down buildings. They don’t tell you this anywhere on their website. After checking in they walk you to some location in the city, where you’re pretty much left on your own. When you think you’re booking a hotel, just know that there are no amenities. No rooms service, no laundry, nothing. There was a washer/dryer in the unit but when I asked for detergent to do a load of wash they told me to go the grocery store and buy detergent as they don’t provide that. This whole operation is sketchy.

Although there is a peek into Dantes's square from the balcony, the view is not principally of the once infamous but now covered well, instead it is of hotel waste bins and noisy motorbikes. It wouldn't matter that the room is less well appointed if it were as tastefully decorated as the others but it is dark and somewhat characterless. The shower screen needed a good clean along the edges and a previous guests private possession's were left in a bedside draw to be found so there was no attention to detail, Breakfast at the neighbouring cafe was excellent service on one day out of our three visits when the waiter looking after us was interested and on form. Overall disappointing.

Piazza Erbe The bar directly below played their music so loud one evening for several hours that at one point the furniture in the 'Suite' literally vibarated. I was told by Corte Realdi that this was due to 'happy hour' and later they said this was a 'one off'. Maybe I'm just unlucky then? I was moved to another of their hotel buildings the following day after I said I would move myself and charge them for it if they didn't. They also promised to reimburse a portion of the 1500 euros I had paid to stay there. Funny though, when I got back to the UK they stopped answering my emails and they have not refunded any money. For me, that is unforgivable. Shame, as the rest of the holiday was OK.

If you do not want to stay in a hotel I would recommend these apartments which were perfectly located overlooking Piazza Erbe with a lovely balcony to sit out on. The apartments themselves were extremely comfortable with all mod cons and very spacious.

Excelent stay in the heart of Verona! Our apartment was big and beautiful, with italian furniture and aristocratic feeling. The hosts were very nice and helpful with everything we needed. They helped us parking the car amd arranged everything so we have a great stay. It is located in the heart of the city, you have restaurants, bars, stores and touristic attractions just around the corner. We definitely recommend this.
