Poor customer service... Unhelpful and quite rude check during check in. Cheated from some dollars Small rooms and can hear other guests being very loud. Bathroom a bit dirty with visible mould. Bed smelt a bit funny. Wouldnt recommend... :(

The room was perfectly clean and warm, with a view of a picturesque canal right below the window. Felt like living the old Venice from the very morning each day... The staff were polite and very nice, the communication with the reception was smooth. I'll certainly be back again! Thank you

The service is very lacking. Not nice and not helpful or willing to help. We wanted two twin beds so the manager lied there are no twin beds in the whole hotel and we slept in a room with connected twin beds. Demanded 10 euros for extra sheets and the pillows are as thin as paper. There is no organised luggage room and over all the experience was not nice to say the least. Would not recommend.

The check in by the owner was the rudest i have ever done which ruined the moment, the room was just basic which is ok but unconfortable , air con did not work well, noisy, hot, mosquitos, couldnt rest, bed was small and bad, this is a hostal, not a hotel, still i paid almost 80 euros per night, the check out almost brought me to tears,they knocked on the room at 11 O'clock , i said it would be a minute to which they reacted horribly, owner included as he was around, by11,02 i was out, i felt terrible , they did not even say goodbye let alone thank you, iwas clearly upset , they did not care, ive never been treated like that, pls dont go there, it ruined the venice trip

Nice comfy hotel with professional and gentle staff. The hotel is quite difficult to find but the owner always contacts to send you the direction in video and photo. Hotel is pretty clean and has a vending machine. Very well-located right in the middle of the tourist quarter. Definitely recommended for next visit.

Book at own risk. Owner doesn't respond or have any morality Tried to book this hotel and two cards magically became invalid. Others look to have the same problem. Unfaithful owners, and they never replied. Now left stuck and have to fork out as prices everywhere have shot up. Bad experience and sour taste. Do better Venice!

Reservation canceled 10 days before the trip. Like many people in the comments, for a fake reason of invalid card. Impossible to join, by phone, mail, booking. Even booking customer service can’t join him. The guy sent me a confirmation 3 days before cancelation on whatsapp. Then he never answered back. He must have managed to rent the room by another way more expensive, so he just canceled us. He found a way to generate fake receipt that the cards are invalid to justify to booking (I tried multiple different cards when I received the notification). He should be sanctionned for this. Don’t call your « establishment » a hotel you are a shame for the profession.

This hotel is very basic, with no AC and the rooms are old and outdated with very hard beds and uncomfortable. Sleep quality was very poor with the heat at night and the facilities at the hotel are nil. Stayed here because of closeness to St Mark's Square but realised it was a bad mistake and you would be better staying further out in a better quality Hotel

My partner and I stayed for two nights in May while travelling around Italy. We knew Hotel Caneva was pretty basic so there were no surprises when we found it was almost hostel-like accommodation, but it was clean and comfortable enough during our stay, and there were clean white towels supplied plus a small sink and a hairdryer in the bedroom. The shared bathroom (which was pretty cramped) was right outside our room so thankfully there were no awkward middle-of-the-night encounters with other guests in their pjs, but the shower was lacking the crucial somewhere-to-put-your-soap dish, which was a bit annoying. The bedroom door wasn't hung evenly so you could only open it so far until it grated on the floor with an almighty screech, but other than that, we had no issues. Don't expect anything fancy and you'll be fine!
