Hotel Tugasa Convento San Francisco

Having stayed in and loved this hotel thirty-five years ago, I was looking forward to going back. I paid for a 20 sq metre standard double room because I felt that the 15 sq metre budget room would be too small. The room we got measured almost exactly 9 sq metres. When I asked about it at reception, I was told that they were busy and that the bed was big. It only looked big in such a tiny room! It was also very expensive and I was asked to pay before seeing the room, which is very un-Spanish. We paid for two nights, but checked out after just one uncomfortable one and went home. Suggest avoid...

Stayed at this hotel as part of a bike tour. The location is very convenient, right in the heart of the old city. IT can be a bit noisy at night, but ends up quieting down. Dinner there was excellent: the sashimi tuna was excellent,so was the grilled veggies tapas. Breakfast has plenty of options. Great stay overall.

Situated in a town square, so always something going on. The rooms are basic, and obviously very old, but comfortable enough. The included breakfast was not extensive and basically not staffed unless you go out to the lobby and ask for someone. A great value at only $90 a night.

Simply put, one of the worst venues I have every had the misfortune to visit. A group of us needed a space to discuss business. Because it was hot we pre-booked a table for 9 at the cavernous Convento bar, renowned for its air conditioning. Prior to arrival we were assured the space would be quiet. The reason for this became obvious. No one else goes there... with good reason. Even though no one was watching the TV it was blaring. I politely asked if they could turn down the volume. One waitress obliged. But the barman put it back up again. I asked again. The barman turned it up louder. Then, unbelievably, he put a channel showing deaths in BULLFIGHTS. Our group was shocked. The barman then found (how do these things exist?) a channel showing tied up COWS BEING EXECTURED WITH A SHOTGUN. You can't make this up. This we engineered to make us unwelcome. The jobsworth bar staff are on a salary and get no tips. They do not want tourists or expat customers annoying them with things like food orders (no waiter/waitress ever came to our table). We went to bar for our drinks and, as expected. the service was dreadful A VILE EXPERIENCE.

Hotel enclavado en un histórico edificio el cual fue antaño un Convento Franciscano, en las habitaciones aún se encuentra señales de la congregación. Lo único negativo es que la antigüedad no está reñida con la reforma, se hace necesaria una reforma integral, sobre todo en cuartos de baño y por supuesto cambiar urgentemente el ascensor, prefería subir la escalera a una segunda planta antes que usar el ascensor. Desayuno buffet bastante aceptable, quizás la relación calidad/precio no esté muy bien conjugada, eso sí, la cama supercómoda, y la atención del personal fuera de serie, supersimpáticas y amables todas las chicas, tanto en recepción, como en el comedor o en la cafetería, sobresaliente para ellas.

Hotel muy bonito y buena situación.. Parking muy cerca. El servicio es muy bueno. Desayuno tipo buffet también muy bueno. No le he puesto 5 por dos motivos. La habitación tiene una falta de insonorizacion importante, se escuchaba palabra por palabra con la habitación de al lado. Y al ducharnos los tres, de repente salía el agua fría como ardiendo.
