Marilisa Hotel

Went for a small trip with a child. Good for travelling at staying in the hotel as well . We did both. My daughter had fun in the pool :) Warm, cozy atmosphere. Relaxing and calm. Close to the beach, shops, cafeterias, restaurants and tourist attractions. Good for it's money. Friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely small hotel, only 30 rooms. Ours overlooked the road which we found noisy some nights. Lovely spacious room, kept clean by the hard working girls. The food was ok but as we were there for 10 days we found it a bit the same. The dinning area was out door with the majority of tables under cover. The pool was freezing and got deep very quickly so not very non swimmer or child friendly. Good quality strong sun beds and umbrellas around the pool. BUT my biggest down side was the amount of stairs and single steps everywhere and the majority with no rail. From ground level- a flight up to reception, a flight down to dinning area/bar/pool, a flight down and then up to exit the back of the hotel to get to the beach. We were on the second floor but all the rooms would have had to do stairs. All in all lovely staff, a nice hotel but possibly needs a little money spent on it. Do think if you have mobility problems though.

The most familiar and hospitable atmosphere I have ever experienced! Smiling personnel, assisting in each and every situation, wherever and whenever necessitated by guests. Very clean rooms - order made regularly and in full scope ! And wonderful food !

Lovely hotel & great staff. we were in 102, half board, Breakfast was standard Greek which will suit all. Evening meals were excellent, I believe Mila was the cook, lots of variation & great service from Alexia & Nikos. The cleaning girls kept the place spotless too. Well worth the visit.

We wanted small and friendly and that is what we got. Perfect :) We booked a sea view ( and tree view ) room which was lovely , no road noise, just the sound of the sea and a view of the sea too from the shower window which was great. The bed was very comfy ( i usually need a topper in other hotels !) but you only get a sheet and old style blankets ( if needed ) not a duvet . The hotel had only just opened for the season when we got there so was not full and lovely and peaceful though i don`t think it would ever get rowdy . Not many English guests , which suits us ! The food was really nice with 3 or 4 options on an evening , nice home cooked dishes , though only served warm not hot but we got used to that as it was so tasty . Breakfast nice , mostly continental ,so good if you want authentic , as we did , you wont get full English options . The staff were really hard working and friendly ,nothing too much trouble. Two of them work in the breakfast room then after clearing that they change into cleaning uniform and set about the rooms ! and a great job they do too , the place is very very clean and always smells fresh . Sunbeds around the pool were comfy with optional thick cushions available. The beach ,a few metres from the hotels back gate is quite small but it was perfect for us as very quiet and close enough to nip back to your room for food or toilet. We enjoyed out stay and cant believe the good value we got here . We will return for sure at some point .

The hotel is very nice. Comfortable location, close to beach and shops. Kokkini Hani is small village ideal for calm down and rest. Delicious food. Swimming pool in the middle of the hotel. Very nice and helpful staff, especially Alexia and Nicolas. I recommend the hotel for holidays.

Stayed here the last week of September, flying in to Heraklion from Edinburgh (about 4.5 hours) It was late when I got there, but the person on duty chaecked me in with a smile and a complimentary welcome drink. Times of meals etc, where clearly displayed at the reception desk, in different languages. I retired to my double superior room, right next to the pool and restaurant, and was delighted at how clean everything was. Apart from the local tax, payment on arrival, there were no hidden charges or extra costs for aircon, etc. Food was good. Breakfast was a good mix of continental. Lots of choice and great coffee too! Evening meals were very good. A great choice of dishes. Always nice fruit and cakes on the menu. Staff are amazing. Nice to see so many smiles and a cheerful greeting, each day. The hotel is serviced by a frequent bus route to Heraklion terminus, About 1.60 euros, single. The beaches are about a 2 minute walk via the hotel garden. Plenty fo places to hire chairs and umbrellas. Also a few local beach restaurants and cafes. The are is ok for shopping. A big supermarket, about five minutes walk and a smaller grocers opposite that. Plenty of local places to eat. Great local food and also pizzerias. average cost of any meal I had was about 15 euros with a drink of some sort. Car hire businesses in abundance. I didn't need one, but apparently its not too pricey. Would I return? Definitely! A great place for my first Cretan adventure.

I stayed at the Marilisa Hotel with my wife and 10-year-old daughter for 10 days in early August 2023. The hotel is 3 stars and was just what we wanted - lovely and clean with a very traditional Greek feel. The hotel is small and was never too busy anywhere. All of the staff were really friendly and approachable. We were half board and the food, whilst not a la carte, was very nice. There was always something at breakfast and dinner to enjoy and there was plenty of it. The pool was bathed in sunshine all day and there were invariably sunbeds and shades available. The pool does get deep at one end (about 9 feet) so we used pool noodles to float about when we were too tired to swim. There is a pool bar open all day where you could also buy lunch. The room was fairly basic but large with comfortable beds, air conditioning and a fridge. It was cleaned every day. The hotel is a 2-minute walk from the beach and situated in the centre of the village which has some bars, restaurants and shops (including a big supermarket). Kokkini Hani is not a full-on tourist trap and feels very Greek so is probably not for those seeking a wild time. It was however absolutely perfect for us. A huge thank you to all of the staff at the Marilisa Hotel for a wonderful holiday. We will certainly be returning.

We stayed here for a two day one night as an emergency accommodation due to the most recent issues back in the UK. We thought it was nice clean rooms were spacious. Staff go above and beyond for you. We ordered food from the bar which was good quality kids loved the pizza. Pool is clean but very deep for kids there is a wanting sign at the pool telling you this which is also very good. Overall I couldn’t fault it although is was a quick stay very happy.
