Sol Caribe Beach

Excellent stay at Sol Caribe Beach hotel in Varadero, Cuba. The setting is beautiful and right on the beach. The food leaves a lot to be desired but you’ll not go hungry and by Cuba standards it’s good. All the staff are brilliant and very friendly especially Brayan in the Shack bar. He was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us

Just got back from one week at Sol Caribe beach…. from the minute, we checked in till the minute we left we were treated exceptional by the staff. The staff go way out of their way to help so why not do everything you can to help back. The cuban people lack the everyday things that we take for granted, so try to pack your suitcase up with practical items they could use and give back a little… flashlights, lighters, medicines/Advil, chocolate bars, clothing, etc. our room was awesome king size bed overlooking the pool and an ocean view. What more could you ask for? The beach is gorgeous and a five minute walk from anywhere in the hotel. The restaurant by the beach, there was always something good to eat Breakfast buffet never fails Salt and pepper à la cart was a great experience and the food was awesome Coffee bar every morning for lattes and espresso great way to start the day Lots of fun at the pool bar! The bar in the main lobby always has something refreshing. Fully stocked bar not once did they not have what I was looking for (big shout out to GLADYS!) she’s a sweetheart! DONT FORGET TO TIP :) bring some American one dollar bills We also had the pleasure of dealing directly with the guest experience office and in particular YAHIMA she was always there for us if we needed anything she’s awesome. I can’t say enough about this place and the staff We had an amazing seven days and can’t wait to go back. If you’re looking to go to Varadero I highly recommend this location

The hotel itself and the grounds were nice. However, there were a few areas that could benefit from major improvement. For instance, the Wi-Fi service was inconsistent and for the first few days did not have Wi-Fi at all. The staff at the front desk had major attitude, they could have been more welcoming and helpful. The entertainment lacked excitement. More importantly, the quality and variety of the food did not meet expectations, which was a significant factor in my overall dissatisfaction which impacted the overall experience. These factors ultimately affected my vacation and based on this experience, I have decided not to return in the future. I hope these aspects will be addressed for the benefit of future guests.
