Valladolid 48 Hotel & Hostal

All was perfect, staff was amazing, fun activities, room was so clean. Very Nice hostel with good facilities and great staff. There was a lot of other backpackers, that you could interract with, which was Nice. There was a lot of theme nights, which really connected everyone. Very fun experience. Would recommend.

Cons: -Dirty washroom/Dirty rooftop kitchen. Don't think anyone is cleaning from the hostel. -Bad smell in the dorm room due to humidity and lack of aeration? -Can hear everyone outside of the room. -Slow-filling toilet tank, so sometimes you can't flush it. -Our dorm room was beside the rooftop kitchen, people hang out there all night. So it was difficult to fall asleep early. -Not many places to hang out while it rain, as most of the commons area are outside -Water puddles form in the hallway during rain. Drain clogged ? Pros: -Water refill available by donation -Activities organized by the Hostel everyday -Locker provided in the dorm room -Breakfast included: Scrambled eggs (mexican style), cucumber, watermelon, toast/jam and beans -Nicely decorated with Frida Kahlo quotes and color. -Friendly staff, 24 hours reception -A/C available in the dorm room -Located in the center of Valladolid. -5 mins walk to the ADO bus terminal

It's a great place to stay and embrace a local Mexican culture (in this case Yucatan's) there are so many places to go around, beginning with Chichen It's, the cenotes -lots of them-, Las Coloradas and many more!!! At the hostel the staff was really nice and helpful they get all the solutions for a nice trip and you have a free breakfast

The hostel is located near the centre of the city. The rooms had a slight odd smell, I think the AC caused dampness. But the hostel has a nice kitchen and area to hang out. There's a nice pool and friendly staff. The events they put on were great, but should be more of them! The staff were also really helpful in planning my cenote visits.

Good Things first: - just 5 Minuten from the Ado, in the center - nice wall-decoration at the common areas - Windy roof-top The first 10 Minutes after arriving were quite nice. But then it turned into a really uncomfortable and bad stay: - The dorm smelled disgusting: a mix of old pizza & effluent and the staff just ignored that for two days - The bathrooms and the pool smelled bad the same way. - The ground at the rooms and at the bathroom was super dirty, the lockers as well. - Also the rooms are very small & poor - in a 6-Bed Dorm we only could find 2 places of socket/plugs - The staff forgot our laundry although we pointed out that we really need it in time. They didn't even noticed it. We had to ask for it 3 times. - Basic Breakfast (Toast, eggs, marmalade) but just instant coffee and no milk. - It was so loud! Even if the door to the dorm is closed, you can hear every spoken word from outside the room. - Especially in the evening when a lot of travelers used to make party with loud music & screaming it was really hard to fall asleep. We asked for changing rooms, but the staff was not interested in helping us out at all. All in all: if you are into partying and if you do not need quiet night & cleanness, you probably will have a good time there. If you wanna have a good sleep, friendly & helpful staff and just a good stay - watch out for other hostels!
