Finca Portizuelo

It's small and out of the way and very close to a beautiful scenic beach. Host is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental but they served scrambled eggs and very delicious Coffee. Rooms were tiled and beautiful. The nicest rooms I stayed in the whole trip.

The building, the rooms, the owner, all are wonderful. Then you have the road leading up to the hotel, the nature, the garden, the beach… Then you go into town, again the buildings, the church, the graveyard, the restaurants… I could live here!!!! Wonderful find and highly recommend!!

Whoever built a hotel here is very courageous. There is nothing nearby. The hotel is almost at the end of a lane that leads to a small stony beach with extremely low occupation. The building is modern and quite minimalist. Although it was full during my stay, I heard no noise from other rooms nor from plumbing, extremely unusual in Spain. With no passing traffic, nights were deliciously quiet. A very good breakfast is served, which all other clients took indoors. I took the option of breakfasting in the shade in the delightful garden. There was no dinner available as they couldn’t find staff, not the first time I heard this in Asturias. There is a footpath into town, and in 15 minutes one arrives at a bar serving food. I had intended to eat there, but then discovered an out of town, easily accessible supermarket at around 8 minutes drive from the hotel. So I bought food that could be eaten cold and ate It on the beach. I did this both evenings and had a very pleasant time, with the tang of sea air, the sound of the waves and the view of the sun going down over interesting rock formations jutting out of the briny. A couple of beers on the beach before the dinner enhanced my enjoyment! So, a charming stay and a place that I would willingly return to.

We had a reservation for this hotel in August 2022 and were shocked to receive notification the week before saying that the stay had been cancelled. When we contacted the hotel we were told that our credit card did not work but the bank advised us that the hotel were putting the date in incorrectly. We could cope with the hotel cancelling the booking but were amazed when they tried to charge us 3/4 of the price saying that we cancelled. Needless to say, we did not pay this. Although we did not actually end up staying there we would not consider doing so.

Heel erg mooie Finca met een grappig en gevatte eigenaar. Prachtige kamers die super proper en ruim zijn. Heerlijk ontbijt met smoothie en ei voor wie wil. Vers brood en home made confituur. Top. De bloemen rondom zorgen voor een beetje een hemel op aarde gevoel. Die man heeft echt wel groene vingers! Strand op 200 meter wandelen en je kan stoeltjes meenemen om er te gaan zitten. Handig want kiezelstrand. Valken maken duikvluchten rond de kliffen en de schaapjes zijn meer dan schattig. Absolute aanrader voor wie rust wil in een schoon vernieuwd en prachtige logeerplek en toch op een 10 minuten rijden is van Luarca. Gewoon doen

No es de extrañar que Severo Ochoa paseara por está playa y la describiera como la más bella de su Luarca natal. La Finca Portizuelo se encuentra a 70 metros de esta mágica playa en un enclave precioso, solo por las vistas y por dar un paseo por la playa o sentarte a observar cómo el mar Cantábrico rompe sobre sus rocas y acantilados, bien merece la visita. Las habitaciones son sencillas y sobrias, pero increíblemente limpias y con unas vistas espectaculares. Daniel es amable, educado y te transmite la misma serenidad y calma que su casa. Aunque lo mejor, sin duda, es su desayuno con productos hechos en casa en un pequeño salón acristalado. Bizcochos caseros, batidos naturales hechos al instante, mermeladas caseras... Maravilloso. Espero volver.
