Ardtara Country House

Yet another fantastic overnight stay and meal at Ardtara ,staff brilliant as ever too ,this place continues to deliver time and time again ,can’t recommend the Ardtara experience enough ,just book it and enjoy it .We have been enjoying Ardtara now for over 25 years ,long may it continue !!

We arrived soaking wet after a downpour on Portrush beach and a warm welcome with a fire in the hall was just what we needed. We were told a fire was lit in our room and that we had been upgraded too! The room was perfect!!! We enjoyed a delicious evening meal which had wine paired with it. We slept soundly that night. Breakfast was fantastic too. Leanne who looked after us was a delight. It was lovely to meet Sean the hotel manager too. We hope to visit again soon when we return to Ireland.

Great place to stay with excellent service. Food was amazing and the atmosphere was very friendly and homely. Staff were really great. Plenty of lovely areas to sit and the bedrooms were comfortable. Everywhere was clean and you just needed to ask for anything you wanted.

Excellent hotel , lovely setting , lovely rooms , but the restaurant experience lets it down . On arrival , Pedro showed us to our room for our two night stay , which was very comfortable and clean . We then went to the restaurant for our first evening meal . I chose rack of lamb , which I thought would be a safe bet . However, it was so tough , as to make it inedible. I told Pedro , without trying to eat any further, and his reaction was that , he would tell the chef . Big deal , what difference is that going to make ? From that point on , our card was marked , unfairly I thought . On the last evening, I thought I would take no chances , and order a fillet steak . What a mistake, it was worse than the lamb , tough as old boots , again I informed the waitress who told me she would let their butcher know ! We are talking about high end dining here , expensive. I was offered a couple of glasses of wine for two spoiled dinners . My wife had fish both nights , which was fine . Also there was a lovely lady who cleaned the rooms , but I’m afraid the dining experience lets the stay down .

Our first time visiting Ardtara house and we can’t wait to visit again! House and gardens are wonderful. We stayed in one of the manor rooms which was just lovely. The view from our many windows in the room was just a canopy of trees with fabulous colors, so relaxing. We had dinner in the restaurant both nights as food was amazing and the chef is to be commended. Well done to Sean, Liane, Pedro and their teams who work so hard to make everyone feel so at home and so well looked after. See you all soon . Eugene and Elaine

Beautiful setting for friend's Daughter's wedding. House and surrounding grounds absolutely spectacular,staff could not do enough for us and food was ten out of ten! We will definitely be back and would encourage everyone to go for relaxing few days!!
