Fantastic !!! When you are looking for an adventurous dive trip stop looking! This is where you need to go! I booked the six night 10 dive package and it really was amazing!! I am a limited experience diver 100+ dives but only in the Caribbean. Be aware of low water temperatures 21-22 centigrade in juli limited sight , current .. without these experiences it is doable … but prepare yourself for it. The marine protected area let the marine life flourish and I saw a vast number of sharks (black tip, white tip, tiger, ragged tooth) whales, dolphins, rays, turtles and so many more. There are ship wrecks big reefs too much to mention! I highly recommend this diving school. The integration of dive school, bar, restaurant and hotel is very comfortable. All personnel really all is super friendly and aims to make you feel comfortable! The dive masters (Georgia , Turner) in my case were professional super helpful and they really want you to have the time of your life. Entering the ocean is with a boat from the beach or small river depending height of the water. The Skippers are great guys… they play a crucial role for your safety, Doug is a hero. All your gear is sorted out day by day. Warm showers welcome you when you come back. If you do 4 dives there is a small pause on the beach and the team brings your lunch you ordered before to get energized again for your next dives! The team is flexible to discuss what you want to see, they really want you to have a great experience! Gary and his wife Natasja run this professionally give you a warm welcome. Thank you entire team!

From the welcome to the goodbyes everything and everyone was smooth and friendly and kind. Big thank you to all the staff for making my stay such a pleasant one. Divemasters, bar & restaurant staff, cleaners, boat captains and the owners, everyone made it all very very special for me. The smiles and the friendly can-do approach was such a treat. I would come back without a second thought. I really recommend this outfit, the diving was great, the atmosphere was super, met some great other divers also. Don’t hesitate to come here for your diving and living experience. Keep doing what you are doing, you’re doing good! Thanks!

We (4 divers from Belgium) spent a week at Blue Ocean, and had the pleasure of doing 13 dives with this fantastic team. The moment you arrive, you get a warm welcome and feel at home. The dive center is one of the best organized I've known since I started some 500 dives ago. Chris, Turner and skipper Fran are enthousiastic and professional, but this really applies to the entire team. The dives were challenging, sometimes high waves and strong current, but - hey - that's why we are here for! Sea sick tablets may come in handy. You'll see more sharks than you van count. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the restaurant staff was always cheerful. They serve good food with plenty of variation. Carnivores must try the 300 gr filet steak! Gary and Natacha have everything under control and were very helpful with a day trip on our last non-diving day. Mind you that there is really not much to do nearby - except for the hospitable Umkomaas Golf Club at the other side of the street - but non divers can take day of half day excursions. We shared the absolutely Delicious Rib and Wing Basket. The Wings came the a Yum dipping sauce. Those ribs were the. best I have tasted in KZN. They were tender , meaty and tasty. The Service was a huge improvement . Will definitely be back shortly

Primarily, the diving here is amazing. If you are a shark diving enthusiast you must check it out. I also had multiple encounters with dolphins, turtles, many types of rays and nudibranchs too. Good selection of dive sites including wrecks, reefs and swim throughs. The convenience of living at the dive centre is a bonus, you roll out of bed and are straight in the dive centre. It gives the place a real community vibe and makes organisation of the trips as easy as possibly. Rooms are decent and have everything you need, and there is wifi in the communal areas. The restobar is a cool place to hang out, and the menu even has a page of plant based options which was perfect for me as a vegan traveller. All of this is only made possible by the AMAZING, I repeat AMAZING team making the place run. Gary and Natasha are very friendly and flexible and get everything sorted for you. The real standout of my trip has to be the dive masters Turner and Chris. I have been diving many places but they have to be the hardest working divemasters I have seen. They are funny and friendly, but beneath this they are very conscientious, helping me to feel very safe and well taken care of on my dives even in less favourable conditions. They are amazing people and provide so much value to the company. They made my trip! THANKS SO MUCH!!!

This was our second time here, and it’s so incredible that we’re already planning to come back every year! The diving experience is simply out of this world - expert dive masters, skilled skippers, and an underwater paradise like no other. From thrilling shark encounters (blacktip, whitetip, bull, reef sharks, and more!) to majestic mantas, graceful rays, and vibrant schools of fish, every dive is an adventure. Macro lovers will be in heaven too, with nudibranchs and even millimeter-sized marine wonders - perfect for photographers and videographers alike. Beyond diving, the resort itself is just as amazing. The apartments are nice and comfortable, with brand-new bathrooms, air conditioning, and reliable Wi-Fi. And the food? Absolutely delicious! Best of all, the price for a 10-day diving trip is surprisingly affordable. So, my final words? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I spent 10 days at the resort which is in need of some refurbishment. The room was surprisingly good and was cleaned daily. The restaurant has a wide range of food and drinks, many people come from elsewhere to dine there. The dive centre itself is well kept but it lacks of proper communication between staff/DMs and divers. Good thing that diving in Aliwal Shoal is a gif that keeps on giving.

Honestly even that 1 star is undeserved. If I could it would be zero stars. Very unprofessional. Waited a whole hour without being told anything. Booked at 11 and at 11:57 stood up to cancel! If on vacation don’t waste your time. Find other things to do in the area.
