The Ocean Pearl, Udupi

Horrible Hotel. Rooms have such a bad smell of the toilet. Common toilet in lobby is not usable. Rooms have noise of the central ac. Totally untrained staff. Manager / no senior is available to attend the concern. Manager has no solution for all the issues

My friends and I (four adults and one child) arrived at Ocean Pearl in Udupi after a long 13-hour drive, and we were delighted by the accommodating and efficient front-desk staff who made check-in a breeze. We had reserved suite rooms, and we were thrilled to find them spacious with separate living and bedroom areas, ***** with a large, spotless bathroom. The room service was prompt, and the food was delightful. We enjoyed the cozy ambiance of their Jazz lounge bar, where the staff was polite and quick with our orders. The Sagar Ratna Veg restaurant offered a variety of delicious South Indian dishes. The hotel also featured a functional gym. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty, with a live egg counter and dosa options from the Sagar Ratna menu. The hotel's convenient location near Manipal, with the renowned Krishna temple within walking distance and the beaches just a short 20-25 minutes drive away, was perfect. The excellent roads made our drive very comfortable. I would definitely choose to stay at Ocean Pearl again when visiting Mangalore or Udupi, and I highly recommend it for families, friends, or couples.

Very very good staffs co - operate with us very nicely sanjana is a very nice person and Neha and chef sumesh are very nice and this place is too good every food of here is very nice and staffs are the best we enjoyed with my family and the food was the best........ THANKYOU

I really loved the chicken sausage and the cheese egg omlete is a must. the staff were very kind and generous. really loved the experience and it's a must to visit. The chef also was really kind and also helped us in writing this review. chef sumesh was also very kind

Awesome service.. new building .. great interiors..good food.. Sumesh is a good chef ..Kemp was very sweet .. provided great service .management was very warm. I would highly recommend this place .. this is very close to the Udupi krishna temple.

I stayed at The Ocean Pearl on my visit to Udupi. I was there for work & stayed with them for 3 nights. Here are my ratings for some of the areas that I feel are important for travellers to know : 1. Location (4 out of 5) : The location is not absolutely at the heart of Udupi. But then, Udupi is not a huge city, it's a town. You can reach anywhere in 7-10 mins. 2. Check-in (5 out of 5) : My room was ready when I arrived, the check in process was over in less than 5 mins. If you are expecting a welcome drink, well that's not available. 3. Room (4.5 out of 5) : The rooms are pretty decent sized for 2 people. Since I was alone, it was more than adequate. The cooling was effective and the linens were clean. The view from my room was not very good. 4. Bathroom (4 out of 5) : They do not provide hand towels - just bathing towels. The toiletries they provide are avoidable - the soap, shampoo, body lotion etc. I'd prefer you carry yours. But towels are replaced daily, and the fresh towels smell excellent. 5. Food (5 out of 5) : I loved the food they served me. From the ghee roast to the beg thaali. Simply superb! The breakfast seemed repetitive - especially, the poori bhaaji, dosa, idli, upma & sheera. But I guess, in a way, that's what people also prefer. The bhaaji with the poori is to die for. Don't miss ghee roast pomfret - it's divine. The fish just melts away. 6. Room Service (5 out of 5) : I think their service has improved dramatically. Anything that I ordered was delivered within max 15-20 minutes. 7. Staff (5 out of 5) : Very helpful & courteous. It was a pleasure to speak with them. All in all, I feel it's a 4 out of 5 for me.
