Wonderful 250 yr old 3 level haveli converted into excellent hotel with period decore & furnishings, good bathroom, hot water, historical photos and a garden courtyard & clean swimming pool overlooked by a ggod small restaurant & upstairs bedrooms with balconies. And not to forget Tom 1 and Tom 2, the 25 & 15 year old pet Leopard tortoises who live in the garden by the pool and like tomato and cucumber for breakfast. Hotel is half km from southern entrance to City Palace & opposite huge quiet Gulab Barg "botanic park" with a bird park which includes an Australian emu enclosure! Park also has old home of British Resident to Udaipur Court which is now a library and has a large statue of the Emptess of India herself, Queen Victoria, standing quietly in a long gallery amidst dusty bookcases. Thank you Hukam & Mili at reception and Prabu in the restaurant for a memorable 3 nights.

One of the best hotel experiences I have had. Hotel has a mix of haveli style architecture with modern amenities and is perfect for a Rajasthan visit. Great location, nearby City Palace and Lake Pichola. They also help arrange for outstation and Udaipur travel when needed (paid for separately), and even that is really good! They even offered to pack breakfast for our travels which is something I have never come across in hotels! Truly a wonderful place to stay!

Lovely property with lots of character. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms unique. We loved the old world feel. The staff was caring and helpful, always attending to our every need. Dinner was delicious in the courtyard as we sat in candlelight. Only a few steps away from shopping and the city palace. This place was a hidden gem. I would stay here again and would most definitely recommend.

We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel . We loved it, we had a fabulous time. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are big and the beds are very good. Each staff member is courteous, helpful and always smiling .The manager was very helpful in arranging everything you wanted for. Overall the perfect place to stay in Udaipur.

Really nice hotel! We had a great experience at the hotel. The rooms were modern and very clean. Also a nice swinningpool and great service. The rooms were cleaned every day. And the restaurant was also great. Lovely food and service!!!!!!!

The best hotel we stayed in India and the others were great. Ajay, Milli and Hukum were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I understand why so many guests come back, it feels like home from home. The garden and pool are phenomenal, it is centrally located in the old town so easy to get everywhere. The food was delicious too. We felt like VIPs staying, the staff made you feel so special. Loved every minute of it and we will most definitely stay when we come back.

We arrived before 9 am after 2 long flights and were immediately given a room well before normal check in time to recoupriate. The following morning we were asked if we would like to move to a better positioned room by the pool, which we did. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly especially Mr. Hokum (sorry if this is not how he spells his name) who put up with my inveterate questions and was helpful in every respect. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the City Palace and therefore is well positioned. Heartily recommend it

We had a wonderful experience at the Mahendra Prakash Hotel. Being a heritage hotel , it is well maintained and exudes of warmth and personal touch. It has a serene and very peaceful atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hukum Singh, always makes it a point to connect on daily basis and also meticulously guides on the various places to visit. Prabhu and Bupendra are the guys who take care of food and service and do a wonderful job making sure you are comfortable and respond quickly to anything you require. Staying at the hotel gives you the old world haveli experience, blended with modern facilities.

Mahendra Prakash is a heritage hotel, true to its description. It is centrally located. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and spacious with a balcony from where the City Palace was clearly visible - beautiful in the night when all lit up. The room had all modern amenities whilst at the same the well-preserved traditional structure and artistic decor was evident throughout the buildings. The owner is friendly and we had an opportunity to chat with him. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff provided excellent service and it was a privilege to have our meals in the beautiful gardens.
