We pre booked this hotel about a year in advance for a specific room advertised that had two separate beds which would suit me an a traveling companion well. A week before arrival the hotel emailed us to gain confirmation we were still coming, to which we replied and they acknowledged. After a 10 hour journey we arrived to find the hotel saying they had no record of our booking and they had given our room to another guest. The problem took them an hour to resolve and they ended up giving us a family suit in the Heritage wing which did serve our needs in that it had two beds in separate rooms. Not the best of starts but resolved. However the room was exposed to constant loud noise from 0730hrs until midnight everyone of the 4 nights we stayed there. Noises from within and from outside the room. Mainly dragging of tables and chairs in upstairs public areas. Also great loud thuds, bangs, crashing and vibrations. To add to this they piped a sort of bag pipe type Indian music through the public corridors outside our room until midnight which disturbed attempts at sleep. The rooftop pool area often had no furniture whatsoever around it which was odd. There were several functions up here which were extremely noisy with banging of drums in celebration for hours on end. At night in the rooftop restaurant/bar area the noise from the live music could be loudly heard in our room two floors below. Turning to the room itself there was no soap dish, no face cloths, and no box of tissues. The view was of what can only be described as a mix between rubbish tip and building site (see attached photos). Within the room many switches and control panels were grubby and areas of paint work was scruffy and tired. Finally the breakfast offered was okay but not spectacular in anyway with little for anyone who wanted to avoid Indian offerings. Overall a very poor stay for a price of over £200 a night. If you want a peaceful tranquil stay avoid this hotel.
