Pacific Rim Guest Lodge - Adults Only

Clean and spacious rooms BUT very over priced for rooms above a boat shed with thin walls where you hear everything going on around you in neighbouring rooms. Room access is up a very steep flight of stairs. Surroundings include a boat yard and soccer field. Pictures and descriptions are deceptive.

We had a booking here and a week before our trip my partner got into a biking accident and required surgery. I would like to put a disclaimer that I know that our booking was nonrefundable - I was hoping given the nature of what my partner and I were going through with the accident, and the fact that they were able to resell our rooms full price, that some empathy and understanding could be shown. I even had people that could have gone in our place but they refused to even let us do that, although we were already charged full price. When I reached out with our situation to Robert from reservations, he was not understanding of the situation we were in, and in fact gave me pressured deadlines (same date I reached out to him by 6 pm) to cancel our trip when I had indicated I was about to get on a flight back home to my partner, as I was currently on the other side of the world. He was unclear in emails and text messages about giving us a refund, which I have full proof of, and ultimately pressured us to cancel to get any chance of a refund. Once I cancelled he refused to understand the mixed messages he gave on email, and refused to give us back our money while he rebooked our rooms and made close to 1000 bucks on it. I also requested to speak to the owner in which he ignored. So now, he not only was able to re sell our rooms full price and make 1000$ off of new customers, but kept our full payment of 1000$. I would avoid staying here due to the headache you will have to deal with communicating with Robert, it was a nightmare especially with what we were and still are going through with my partner’s accident.

Clean and tidy with comfortable beds. The room was nicely decorated and spacious with cozy seating near the tv/electric fireplace. The owner greeted us upon arrival, was helpful and recommended a place for dinner that we thoroughly enjoyed! Great value for the west coast and would stay there again.

Our experience at the Pacific Rim Guest House was overall positive. Large room with two comfy beds. Very clean. Some of the amenities could have been upgraded (toiletries and coffee provisions), but for the price point, it was fine. The grounds were a bit junky/messy..... would be nice to have that cleaned up, but if you look up, there are some nice views of the mountains and great star gazing.

room was really clean and towels ;;never seen towels that clean even at 5 star hotel. bed was really comfy. ONLY PROBLEM WE FACED;NOISE WE CAN NOT SLEEP ; BECAUSE GIRL NEXT DOOR TO US SHE WAS REALLY LOUD ALL NIGHT SCREAMING .owner glenns super nice and helpfull.

UPDATE Re: My previous reivew - WON MY DISPUTE "False and misleading advertising. Pacific Rim Lodge advertises "free cancellation" on *********** but does not honor this. When I received my confirmation I was shocked to see that in bold red it stated "no free cancellation". I called the owner to inquire and he stated just this specific room was a no free cancellation and that we should contact ***********. He said he would not cancel my reservation and there were no other days available to book. I called *********** and they say call the owner as the owner is responsible for advertising that is misleading. I looked further and noticed on trip advisor that there are many many reviews stating concern over false advertising and also complaints of charges being put on their accounts after check out from Pacific Rim Lodge. I have posted both the advertisement that I saw and then the confirmation for the exact same room. One stating free cancellation on the advertisement (you can see I even filtered for free cancellation) the other confirmation showing the ad was a bait trap to mislead. Due to this and the false and misleading information a formal complaint has been submitted to both the better business bureau and BC Consumer protections against both *********** and Pacific Rim Lodge. Be aware your free cancellation will not be honoured by this business. I have posted photos of other reviews as well as I am a highly concerned consumer." Since this time, I continue to see reviews stating that this business does not honor the free cancellation through ***********. I have confirmed with *********** that the owner is in control of ALL ADVERTISING on *********** platform - meaning the owners are aware that they have misleading information on that site. At any rate, if you fall victim, start a dispute immediately with your credit card company. I presented all the troubling screen shots and promises that were not kept and won my dispute. It's too bad the owners put me through that when they could have easily cancelled my reservation in the first place.
