Extremely Disappointed – Not 5-Star Service, barely 3 star in my opinion I stayed at the hotel from 17th May until 24th May at this hotel, and sadly, the experience has been far from what I expected — especially from a property claiming to offer 5-star service. Upon arrival, I was assigned a room designed for guests requiring additional assistance. This was not suitable, but thankfully it was resolved within 15 minutes by the Team Leader at the desk when I arrived around 10:30 pm, this I think was mainly resolved due to the gent taking my luggage to the room as I was originally advised the hotel was fully booked, which is was not. However, the real issue began with the second room. The door would not lock properly on my 2nd day. I visited reception twice — the first time, they simply reprogrammed my key card. The second time on the Monday as the issue was not resolved I spoke to a senior staff member and walked her to the room to show her the issue in person. She told me to wait a few minutes. After 20 minutes with no update, I called reception and was advised — shockingly — that it was fine to leave the room unlocked, despite the hotel's own policy stating they are not responsible for loss of valuables. I advised that I would not leave the room until the issue was resolved and was told the technician will be on their way. The staff member then abruptly ended the call. I waited a total of 52 minutes before someone finally came up — not to resolve the issue, but to claim (falsely) that a technician had already visited. That was impossible, as I had deliberately left my shoes in the doorway to keep the door open, and no one had entered. Repeated calls to reception went unanswered — likely because the room number was visible on caller ID. Eventually, another staff member came up with guest relations to try to justify the situation, rather than resolve it. Frankly, the lack of accountability and care is astonishing. I also can’t help but wonder whether poor service might be related to my ethnic background or gender ( female) due to not always being served at the hotel bar and male guests who came after getting served before me until I bought it to the bar staff attention — an unacceptable and deeply troubling thought, but one I can’t ignore given the dismissive tone and actions I've experienced. This stay was supposed to be a relaxing break, but it’s been anything but. I would not recommend this hotel. If this is what they consider 5-star service, they need a serious reassessment of their standards.
