One of the best experiences. My boyfriend and I went together. We started our day with yoga (his first time) and he mentioned it was the most relaxed he’s felt in years. After that we paddle boarded on the cenote covered in lily pads. Also road bikes around and saw some animals on the property. Took a tour of the underground cenotes which was by far the highlight of the trip. The pools are also great and not crowded at all almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. Dinner we had the best fish we’ve ever had along with tasty drinks. They even had a non-dairy dessert for me! I’d give it more stars if I could!

TRULY A GEM! Can’t say enough incredible words about this hotel. It’s actually magical. When I read other reviews explaining it was magical I thought they were exaggerating — they weren’t. It is so special and everyone that works there is beyond kind and helpful. Originally we had looked at a hotel on the beach of tulum that was double the price but when sold out I discovered this! Thanks goodness the other one was sold out because it could have NEVER compared to this magical family experience. We went with my 4yo and 1yo. The only thing to keeep in mind is with my 1yo I always had to stay close to her because lots of water she could fall into and hard surfaces everywhere! It was easier with my 4 year old. Overall it was INCREDIBLE. I can’t wait to come back. Job Tlurs who did the cenotes tour with my family and took them to see the pigs was FANTASTIC as well, friendly informative patient and kind!

This place is amazingly an out of time sanctuary for peace and resourcing. It was the fist stage of our trip to Yucatán and the most striking. The staff is so gentil and pleasant. Special thanks to David who made our days by visiting the area, discover cenotes and for all his recommandations. We will miss and will need to come back 😉

Wakax is a true hidden gem among the many standardized resorts in the Cancún–Tulum corridor. It’s a preserved hacienda with rustic charm and authentic natural beauty — a place that offers peace, balance, and a deep connection with nature. The atmosphere is intimate and exclusive, with very few guests sharing the space at the same time, ensuring privacy and tranquility. The decor is excellent, the restaurant serves delicious cuisine, and the service level is very good. The activities are all designed to enhance physical and mental well-being, always integrated with the natural surroundings, which makes the experience even more enriching. There are a few small areas for improvement that could make the stay even better: stronger water pressure in the showers, more consistent access to hot water, and full-length mirrors in the rooms. We also noticed that due to bats, the balcony would sometimes be covered with droppings in the morning, making it less usable — some additional control in that regard would be helpful. That said, our experience at Wakax was truly special and unforgettable. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for something different, immersive, exclusive, and meaningful.

We had a fantastic stay at Wakax and we highly recommend it. The staff was very professional and attentive. The restaurant was excellent. The hotel is surrounded by stunning nature and offers a wide range of activities for both adults and children. The rooms and hotel facilities are very high-end, yet not pretentious. Thanks to David, who is in charge of activities, we took a jungle tour where we learned about how the Mayan people used to live and their beliefs. We explored cenotes and an incredible underground river filled with natural beauty. These experiences are reserved exclusively for hotel guests, as all the sites are located on the vast property owned by the hotel. We felt truly privileged to access such unique places. From the temazcal (an ancestral ceremony) with a shaman to yoga classes and massages, everything you need to purify the body and soul is available. The hotel has many pools, fresh water lakes and cenotes on the property but no access to the beach. It didn’t bother you. We hired a car and went discovering Tulum beaches. We highly recommend Panamera beach club (chic, quiet, confortable) 20 min by car from Wakax.

We stayed for 3 nights and would loved to have stayed longer. The rooms are luxurious, spacious and comfortable. They have wonderful views and are cleaned do a very high standard. The food throughout the resort was top notch. Breakfast was interesting, fresh and varied. Lunch and dinner options again were excellent and very well priced for the quality. The pools are immaculate, if slightly cold. The pool service is outstanding, with free water and coffee provided together with a full food and drink menu. The cenotes are just incredible and the use of paddle boards and kayaks a real bonus. The tours of the jungle and cenote were arguably the highlight of the stay. Gonzalo is an amazing guide and was fantastic with our young children to make sure they had the best time. So entertaining and engaging. The staff and service were top tier. Perfect balance of attentive yet relaxed. One of our favourite hotels stays.
