Palazzo Mottola Tropea

A truly idyllic stay in one of the most beautiful hotels in Tropea. Everything was just awesome. The rooms are very quaint and cosy. The breakfast was a very good spread including local delicacies served on the terrace with breathtaking sea views . Rosa was always very attentive and ready to serve with a smile. The front of house both Francesca and Saverio were super accommodating especially during our few days with a cold, had arranged a local doctors appointment as well as catering from a nearby restaurant. Highly recommended stay in Tropea! We would love to come back again soon one day and enjoy it all again! Roof top sunsets were spectacular!

Great view. We stayed in the nicest suite. Lovely breakfast. Unfortunately the room above ours was occupied by complete ****** that must have been clog dancers. They started clog dancing at 7 in the morning till 8 and again in the afternoon around 3 to 4. Do not rent the second floor suite because you can hear every and I mean every food step from the people above you. Of course it would help if they didn't wear hard shoes. I have posted a photo of the ceiling from our bedroom so you can see.

My husband and I were in the Region of Calabria and decided to go to Tropea as we had never been. I booked Palazzo Mottola for just the one day and night as we had plans for the rest of our vacation. Once we got to Tropea and to the hotel I could not just stay the one day and extended our stay to three days two nights. The hotel is beautiful, clean and what makes it a wonderful stay is the staff, so accommodating and friendly. The view from the balcony is spectacular, I’ve travelled to many islands but this beach is by far my favourite. I will return hopefully next year. Thank you for making my vacation a memorable one! A presto !!

Best hotel in Tropea! Very beautiful interior, best view from the balcony at breakfast and fantastic staff! Perfect location and 6 min walk to the beach. The breakfast could be better with more options and more fresh food. Overall good stay. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

So difficult to describe such a magic experience. A Warm and smiling welcome , a very nice room cleaned twice a day. Paola and analisa always ready to help and give good advices.the view on the rooftop is breathtaking and the breakfast is perfect . We stayed in Tropea a few years ago at Villa Paola - before it got "famous" - and we loved it but agreed it would be better to be right in the Centro Storico if we visited Tropea again. We sought out the hotel we would next stay at - Palazzo Mottola. It was clearly the best hotel within the town back then and suited our needs of dining out every night and use of the beaches rather than a swimming pool. Make sure you get a transfer that is authorised to driving within the Centro Storico otherwise you will get dropped outside and if you have never been before, you will no doubt get lost. We were fine. Through an unassuming door just off the best little piazza (IMO) and you are away from the craziness. Just a simple reception - always prosecco upon arrival and you sit on the little bacony while they process your arrival/room. All three ladies whom we dealt with were amazingly helpful and friendly. Breakfast is continental unless you ask for cooked items - eggs in many different ways but they will try to please you, even offering to nip out and buy something if they don't have it. I love una torta or pastry for breakfast in Italy so I was content. We did nothing but eat breakfast and sleep there overlooking the most beautiful sea in Europe (we have been to the Seychelles, Maldives, Caribbean etc...). Tropea is best kept a secret - We decided to retire here the last time we were in Tropea, and this visit renewed our desire to! Palazzo Mottola is without a pool, but with an amazing roof top bar. They will arrange a tuk-tuk (amazing experience) to beach clubs/lidos or you can walk. They are so cheap compared to other European beach clubs. PM has limited rooms being boutique, but it has everything you need. The service is impeccable and the friendliness of the staff was second to none. I know we will return, even just to meet the staff again. Absolutely loved every second of our stay. Thank you ladies xx
