I together with family members had stayed a number of times at this hotel when it was part of the Best Western chain and we had always enjoyed our stay. When I booked in early December of 2021 a room for myself and my oldest son for Christmas in Trondheim I had no idea that the hotel had gone bankrupt and had been taken over by new owners. When I arrived at 10,30 on Christmas Eve morning, the hotel was locked and the temperature was far below freezing and no one came when I knocked and knocked on the door. Finally, a hotel employee arrived and opened. Later that day, when I ordered a taxi to take me to my youngest son's home for the Christmas Eve dinner, the employee had vanished and the entrance door was locked and I could not exit. I slipped my key card under the door to the taxi driver who proved without success to open the door from the outside. I told him to wait while I searched through the hotel to find someone to open the door. Finally on the 4th floor I found a cleaner who helped me open the door. Later that day, my youngest son called the number for Tommi, the hotel manager. Tommi lied and told him that there was a sign on the wall by the entrance telling how to open the door. Also Tommi told my son that there were 4 fire exits well marked in the lobby. Again another lie since there was one fire exit far from the front door at the opposite end of the hotel. The next day my oldest son from California arrived in Trondheim and we went directly from the airport to celebrate Christmas Day with the rest of the family. We arrived later that night at the hotel around midnight. Given my earlier problems with the door I asked the taxi driver to wait. Once again the reception was deserted, the entrance door was locked and my key card did not work. I had Tommi's number so I called him and he told us to wait for him to come to unlock the door. I asked how long would we have to wait and he said 20 minutes. The temperature at this time was well below freezing and this meant standing in the cold to wait for him. Rather than wait, we asked the taxi driver to take us to the Radisson Blu Royal Garden Hotel my son had found on his cell phone while I was talking with Tommi. The staff there were extremely helpful and checked us into a room. I went outside and paid the taxi driver approximately 40 dollars for the trip as well as for his waiting time while I talked with Tommi and checked into the Royal Garden. We had a nice room but my clothes, medicine for a stomach ailment and toiletries were locked into the room at the Chesterfield. The next morning I walked to the Chesterfield and arrived luckily just as a young woman employee was arriving to unlock the door. After she opened I found that someone (Tommi?) had attached a tiny green slip of paper on the wall to the left of the entrance with instructions about opening the door. When I arrived at my room, I found that my keycard would not open the door so I had to return to the r
