Old Mill Toronto Hotel

This is a really cute hotel in a more residential neighborhood. The building itself is very well designed and decorated. It holds historic value and can be rented for parties and weddings. There is no restaurant on site except for the bar and room service. If you walk about 20 minutes you will be able to find food. We had the room service breakfast which was honestly mediocre and not worth the price, but at the same time it was nice to eat breakfast in bed. They upgraded our room which was also a pleasant surprise and were able to give us a late check out and hod our bags until 5 pm.

I did not expect a $50 additional fee for cleaning services. I would not have stayed here. They cleaned the room sure, but a surprise $50 upon checkout was not worth it. That should have been in the initial price. I expected better signage within the hotel: there are multiple lobbies and multiple pathways between multiple areas of the hotel; so meeting anyone is Very confusing. I expected a functioning restaurant for such a nice hotel. It was closed Monday-Wednesday, my first three nights there. Their menu also shouldn't demand those prices, so I guess the Inn Denied me another disappointment in that regard. I also expected some method of morning food/breakfast other than room service with a tiny menu. I expected the elevators to work as well. The left one closest to the Smith Bar would often not open at all or spit you out on the wrong floor. Setting up wi-fi to the TV for better viewing options didn't work. I only had one hour so it wasn't the hassle to send somebody up. So much for that hr of relaxation. I expected more than one person at the front desk during peak times of check-in/out. The spa was closed every time I passed by. I feel like a simply paid steep hotel prices for a nice bath in the room and nice wallpaper in the function/conference rooms. The robes were stiff; the toiletries were low quality. I feel like patrons must not know any better, and the success of the Old Mill Inn must be due to return patrons who find comfort in a familiar hotel. I don't think I would recommend this venue/hotel again for anybody, for any purpose.

I was initially apprehensive about staying in an "old" hotel, but my worries came to rest. It was similar to a cottage theme with very clean rooms and adequate amentities. Staff were always very friendly, greeting us everytime we leave and return to the hotel, and responds promptly to our housekeeping requests. 10 minutes from the hotel, there is a park with a calming stream, a great place to rest and rewind from the busy city life. Nearest train station is just 5 minutes walk away, and a 30-45 minutes car ride to downtown. Some downsides though, there are no nearby restaurants besides the one in the hotel, and no nearby supermarkets. Utensils were not provided in the room so be prepared to bring your own set. Hotel lifts seem a bit worn out but had not broken down during my stay. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay given the calm surrounding vibes and amazing service. I would consider returning in the future

Customer Service was great. SPA is great. Please think about the impact of your incense or difusion of oil in the lobby and public areas. The scent selection and strength need to be either - not at all to respect clients with allergies or reactions ot some smells are offputting. Or post and advise you are not scent free. I had a family member who was unable to join me at the facility as she is allergic - emphalatic - to anything that contains a preservative made with cinnomin. it is in just about everything that is a fragrance, cleaner,launrdy detergent airfressener etc. In most cases I can keep her away in restaurants in the facility etc. No oppoortunity this time. I did not advise you but this is of deep concern. My sister nad others who have allergies face the surprise and challenge of being exposed. Consider a scent free- scent sensative entrance ?? ot

While the outside of the building is beautiful and historic, the inside reflects its older history. The elevator broke down and we had to be taken through the maintenance elevator. Our key card stopped working but the front desk guy helped with that. I’m not sure if it was a problem with Expedia’s description or that of the hotel but it said there would be a hot tub and it was a jetted bath at best. The jets also shot out black stuff?? Was hoping there would be a microwave but that’s my fault for not checking. The website also mentioned a car service but to my knowledge there wasn’t one unfortunately. The area around the hotel is beautiful and I wish it was warm enough to walk through the garden! There aren’t many food options around the hotel because the area is so spacious but the hotel does have room service and a restaurant(a bit pricey I may add but seems classy!). Staff was super nice:) Parking was not an issue.

Very clean, comfortable stay with a historic vibe. Not a cookie cutter motel! Nice location along the Humber River and just a short walk to Bloor West Village eating and shopping options.
