Ulasan Ueno Urban Hotel Annex

The hotel is located nearby Ueno Station and within walking distance to Ueno Zoo. There are a lot of eateries nearby and vibrant shopping streets. Highly recommended.

Walking distance from Ueno station, Iriya exit. There’s also a Family mart at the exit, perfect when you want something to eat or drink. Check in and check out is at the main Ueno Urban Hotel and it’s self check in/check out via their machine.

The room and hotel were nice enough for what it was: a short one-night stay close to Ueno station so that I could have a direct train line the next morning out to the airport. Clean, nice staff, good location close to a lot of restaurants, activities, Ueno park, shopping, etc.

The location was everything, close to Ueno Station and Ameyoko so that i don't need to walk far to the station or finding foods.

The location is great! It's not far from the subway station and the Skyliner station. Somehow, we had to walk a couple minutes to the hotel. I still think it's still a good distance. The price is affordable. The room is small but comfortable. They provide, toothbrushes, razors, towels, slippers, and robes. Please remind, there is no water bottles provided but you can drink a tab water in Japan! There are a TV, aircon, kettle, lamp, the light can adjust the color cool white to warm white and the brightness. For the cleanliness, I saw some hairs (like hair from someone's head) left in the bathtub (there is a bathtub too). I saw some stains on the duvet cover. However, I enjoyed staying there!

I’d say this hotel is a high quality hotel! Our room was very clean. I’ve encountered the maid and she’s a very nice and friendly granny.(not speaking English tho but not a male maid for sure) The way they organized the furniture is top notch minimalistic even thought the room have quite a small number of square meters. We have a nice walking circulation space within the room. They organized it better than most 13ft room in Shinjuku. They also have coin operated laundry /drying machines as well if you want to pack light and wash your clothes here. The location is closed to Ueno station (there’s a little portal bridge that’ll let you walk out of Ueno station and the hotel itself is not very far from that portal) Btw, Check-in at Ueno Urban Hotel to receive a card to Annex building They’ll leave a rubber duck as a welcome gift as well. ;) This is by far the best hotel experience I’ve had in Tokyo.

The hotel's location is a straight line 8 mins walk along the train line with 1 curve turn. The website said it was a 4min walk but it is not. considering the heat and carrying bags/luggage it definitely was longer. the street leading up to the hotel is paved, allows you easily draw your luggage to the lobby. service is polite, tentative, easy, quick in and out. the building, common area, and my room was Japanese clean. Although plain & simple, I can appreciate the feel of comfort from its cleanness. This hotel provides a coin laundry machines in the lobby so travelers can wash and dry their clothes for those who are visiting the area for longer periods.

I expected that the hotel could provide better amenities at a price point of around 132usd a night for a room of around 11m2 with a super-single bed. I asked for rental of adapter and phone charger from the reception and was told that there was none, though this was not what was displayed on the brochure (refer to photo) found in the room. The staff also did not explain why there was none, and replied “no” to me despite me trying to tell her what i wanted. Would recommend choosing other hotels at this price point.
