I was going to take photos of all the horrible things at this hotel, but there would have been too many. If you have absolutely no other place you can think of to stay in this area, then, yes, there is a bed, a toilet and a shower. But this was not a pleasant or enjoyable experience. We checked in. The front office area was nice and cool. We soon realized that this floor had the best air conditioning. When we got to our room, the air conditioning had not been turned on. Meaning we basically walked into an oven. The air condition was "high/medium/low" -- there was no temperature setting, because... ? Because this is an old hotel and they don't care to update anything. And why should they? People who need to stay in this area will stay here and won't think about their comfort. But I'm not those people. The wallpaper next to the bed was scratched and peeling on part of the wall. The sofa in the room (there really wasn't any room for it, but they scrunched it in anyway) was hard, lumpy and springy. It was like... why is this even here? It was horrid. There were some scratches/scars on the bathroom wall. God knows how long they had been there. The toilet/shower room: If you travel enough in Japan, you will recognize that a lot of the toilets are lower to the floor. This is either because it is judged that the average Japanese person is smaller than their Western counterparts and/or that hotels assume that children cannot sit on the toilet unless it is small and doll-like. If you are a "normal-sized" Westerner (like ( am), you will find the "toilet" experience extremely uncomfortable. There was a breakfast that was included. This can only be called "serviceable." As far as "Western" food, there were several cereals, several fruit juices (not fresh) and some yogurt and mini-croissants and other bread-like substances. There were cheap sausages and undercooked "bacon" (the Japanese do not understand crispy bacon) and some thimble-sized "scrambled eggs." Everything else was Japanese. While the front desk staff was pleasant and helpful, this entire hotel should be razed and rebuilt. I'm sorry, but it is an embarrassment.
