"I was so happy to stay here. The owner was friendly. The kitchen and living room were spacious. There was even a bathtub, so I tried the spa, but I was too tired and fell asleep. There was an oven, so I could eat a Tomahawk steak. There were plenty of DVDs at the front desk, so it would be nice to watch a movie while having dinner."

"We were on our way south, and needed somewhere to stop for the night, but were not at all happy with our choice. For some reason Timaru was very expensive that night; well over $200. The only good thing about our room was the size -- lovely and big, with lots of floor space. However, it's on a hill on the main road so vehicles are revving to get up, and lorries are using engine brakes to slow going downhill. We got very little sleep. As we were checking out we noticed somebody on the rowing machine in the gym -- vaping. It turns out this was the desk clerk. Safe to say we will not be back."

"We were received by an old New Zealand lady who was very unfriendly. She must have been dissatisfied with the previous Chinese guests. The old lady’s English pronunciation was not accurate. She pronounced milk as mulk. We didn’t understand it at all. She slapped the table at us. , they all say that New Zealand’s service industry is very good, but I have personally experienced that it is much worse than China’s service industry."
