City Hotel Tilburg

I stayed for 1 night to watch a concert in the nearby arena. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the train station. Check-in was very easy, and there was a lovely receptionist on the front desk. I was allocated room 103, which was a large room overlooking the square. 2 comfortable single beds, en suite bathroom, TV, fridge, ample storage space, and a desk fan. Didn't hear noise during the night, despite the bars in the immediate vicinity. Breakfast was nice. Usual continental fare with plenty of choice. All in all, a lovely hotel. Recommended

The hotel is very central and only 15 minutes walk from Tilburg railway station. It is surrounded by pubs and restaurants and its location is good. However, the hotel is dated and whilst it ticks the main requirements of a hotel, it does not have any frills such as a kettle or coffee maker. It is also close to the church and its half hourly chimes which might be a challenge to sensitive sleepers. Breakfast is included and is good. There is a lift but staff don't point this out and I carried my luggage up two flights of stairs unnecessarily.

We booked a triple room with a double bed and 1 single bed (option given). They called 24h up front and confirmed this on the phone. On arrival we had to pay the full amount up front for unknown reason. The room we got was just a double room and had only 1 double bed so our son had to sleep in between us. The double bed however was just made of 2 single beds moved together. The lightswitches and phone were installed between the two single beds so when moved together they are horribly placed in the middle of the double bed. Our son got the phone on his head twice during the night. When noted to the staff they replied: “we thought the child would be smaller so a double bed was enough”. They did not even offer to put up a bed. There were two of everything, not three. Note that every night there was loud music and people shouting until 4 am. The breakfast buffet was very limited and the provided pastry and bacon was black/burned. During our stay we noted a lot of mold in the bathroom which was never cleaned. At the end of our stay they offered to refund partially from the triple to a double but “they could not do that right now”. We have never heard from them since. They charged for three and delivered for two. Horrible experience.

Nice staff and great location if you are visiting Tilburg. It is close to the trainstation and there are several bars and restaurants in the area. The downside is the actual hotel itself - its old and very dated. The breakfast was ok but very simple.

Vandaag werd de reservering, die ik een half jaar gemaakt heb, plotseling geannuleerd. We hebben hier eerder geslapen na een Ayreon concert in 013, en waren toen al niet te spreken over het ontbijt. De enige reden dat we weer geboekt hebben was de goede nabijheid bij 013. Dit is de laatste keer dat ik ze de kans geef om de vorige slechte ervaring goed te maken. Volgende keer zoek ik het een na dichtstbijzijnde hotel. GEEN AANRADER
