I have stayed at several hotels in Hue, but my experience at Hue Ecolodge was particularly disappointing. A few days ago, I visited with the intention of swimming and was informed that the entry fee was 150,000 VND per person, which we accepted. My sister arrived first and paid for our group of six. However, upon my arrival, I was unexpectedly asked to pay an additional 150,000 VND for pool access, despite my sister’s payment covering this cost. Upon realizing that I had overpaid, I promptly approached the reception to request a refund for one person. Unfortunately, my request was declined, as the staff stated there were seven people in the pool. We politely asked the hotel manager to address the situation, but his response was unsatisfactory, leaving us feeling disappointed. While the amount in question may seem minor, it reflects the hotel’s handling of issues as they arise. Additionally, I would like to address concerns regarding cleanliness. I have attached a few photos to illustrate the state of the hotel. The pool and garden areas were littered with trash, and the swimming pool filter ditch contained dirt. Given these conditions, we decided to leave the hotel as soon as possible.

We had a beautiful spacious room. The grounds are pretty with lots of landscaping. Nice pool and decent restaurant. We were too far out of town to find a different place to eat. The room has all the amenities but one---hot water. I didn't know that you have to turn on a hot water heater. I only discovered this when I called reception to ask why there was no hot water. They told me to turn on the switch which I did. I didn't realize that the fuse also had to be turned on so in the end I didn't get my bath. They informed me that there would never be enough hot water to fill up the big wooden bathtub. That was a big disappointment. We should have been informed before we got excited about having a bath together. We got set menu and again were a little disappointed because each set menu was for two persons only. This was not written anywhere on the menu. We each wanted different food and had to compromise. The food was beautifully presented and the service was prompt. I shouldn't have had to ask for fish sauce, soy sauce and fresh limes to season the soup. These are standard condiments here in Vietnam. The bed's mattress was very hard and I did not sleep well. Wonderful breakfast. Fresh mango and passion fruit, delicious pho.

This is an excellent lodge. It's very clean, very spacious and features all necessary amenities. The restaurant is also very good. Great service, a good assortment of many different types of dishes. And Hué Ecolodge has a friendly staff. I would highly recommend Hué Ecolodge.

Best hotel in Hue, amazing pool, helpful staffs. Hue EcoLodge is really fantastic, ,,everything beautiful, the gardens and surrounding are very nicely done. All staffs are helpful. I had a good time when i stayed here. I'll come back !!!!!

My family and I decided to stop by this place to use the pool and it just happened to be our worst experience in Vietnam,. There were 9 of us and we arrived in 2 vehicles/ 2 groups . I went in and purchased 6 swimming tickets , 5 for my group and 1 for my brother who was in the other group that arrived about 5 minutes after my group because they had to park the vehicle. My brother didn't know I have already paid for his ticket so he went ahead and paid again. After realizing we have overpaid by 1 ticket, we brought this up to the pool's service desk and surprisingly, they refused to give us a refund. I have traveled over 30 countries and have never encountered anything like this. I asked for a manager and all I got was a very unprofessional person whom anyone can clearly see that he has no customer service nor tourism experience knowledge. All he did was just repeating what the pool desk girl has been mumbling to me prior to my request to see him. Since it was my last day in Vietnam and the amount of the ticket was not a lot to fuss about so I decided to not let it bother me but some how it did. I am just disappointed at the way they handled things and robbed the customers in broad day light. They kept saying something about the fact that they have already " transferred" the $ ; I am not sure what they transferred/ wired $ to because I paid via cash. Either way, a successful business would have never handled the incident the way they did. Stay away from this place! On top of that, it is far from town and the road to it is under construction and there is nothing to do in the area where it is located. I hope the owner read this and know he has a " bug " that bugs his system!
