What an amazing hotel. Lesley is the most wonderful and helpful person, there wasn’t ever a thing too much to ask. If every service was done the way Lesley treated us then what a wonderful industry it would be. The Sunday carvery was incredible, the portion sizes was huge and Lesley even went above and beyond to cater to the vegan eaters in our group. If I didn’t live four hours away I would 100% make this my local place to eat. If you are looking for a place to stay near York then this is your place. Wonderful views. The kindest staff and comfortable room. Thank you Lesley and team for our enjoyable weekend. I hope to see you all again.

Hotel appears to lack staff although the two people we saw were friendly. Main meal was ok, although first choice of food and drink from menu were not available, breakfast the next day was awful, overcooked hash brown and inedible black pudding. Room and bathroom was very clean but bed had prominent bed springs you could feel. Water pressure for shower was very low. Overall feeling is Hotel is run on a tight budget.

Great value for money and a great breakfast Very well looked after and beds were very comfortable and rooms were clean and tidy place . Really handy place for future visits. Thank you very much to the staff . Very relaxed so you can feel at home.

Stayed over last night and was really impressed. Great value for money, very friendly greeting from the lady on reception and plenty of free parking. The room was perfectly fine, very clean and it was lovely and peaceful overnight. 2 minutes drive from the town centre!

Brilliant three nights spent at the White Horse Lodge hotel. The welcome from Lesley was second to none....nothing was too much trouble....the room was warm, clean and comfortable.... excellent choice available at breakfast. Ample free on-site parking, lovely surroundings, excellent location for touring the North York Moors. I'm sure my sister and I will be back in the future

Excellent small hotel where nothing is to much ,came down from Scotland for my cousins funeral but know the area , booked breakfast for 2 mornings, thd first morning it was a buffet breakfast due to the numbers, this morning the Manager brought a massive plate full to the table and it was excellent , rooms spotless and comfy bed. WiFi throughout, and loads of free parking and is one and a half miles out of Thirsk on the Sutton bank road on the left next door to a lodge park , due to family numbers we met up in the weather spoons called the 3 tonnes on the left as you enter Thirsk square and it's also a hotel , taxi rank also in the square across from the 3 tonnes across the road anc about 50 yards up

Visited as a group of 4 in January 2025 for the weekend. We had Rooms 1 and 2. From the moment we walked in the door after a ridiculously long journey from the south coast, Lesley welcomed us and soon had us settled in. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble and we had an amazing weekend at the hotel. The rooms were clean, warm and had complimentary toiletries, towels and hot drink facilities. Lesley went above and beyond to make our stay special. The breakfasts were amazing. I had continental and everyone else had the full cooked breakfast. The evening meals were delicious and the Burns Night was brilliant. We intend to return at the start of 2026 and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel. Thanks for a great weekend.

Firstly,I would stay there again. The location is perfect. There was a few things in the bathroom that let it down. There was the push button missing on the cistern, but did not affect the flush. Plug was missing in the basin and also the cradle to put the shower head was loose. However it was a functional and practical room and clean.

This place was superb! Although it's no longer owned by the company listed here, I am unable to find a new listing so reviewing it here anyway. Lesley, the manager, is incredible! She made our weekend. We stayed for 2 nights and had 2 rooms between the 4 of us. Both were decorated beautifully and had everything you could need. They were also spotlessly clean. We ate on both nights and the second night was the themed Burns night- superb fun! Breakfasts were delicious- but ask for a smaller portion if you need to! They are very generous with their portions!! We had an absolute blast- mainly thanks to Lesley and we will return here in a heartbeat!
