"i was disappointed with the food. roast potatoes not crispy. veg bland. for the price i would have expected more. the standard needs raising. other pubs are outdoing them. for the reputation locally it is unjustified travelling. the village and the pub itself is lovely and worth a visit. infact the pantry has vastly superior food. friendly staff which was great but again for the prices they were scruffy which gave the impression of lack of professionalism."

"Our stay on Monday confirmed our impression from four days earlier that the Swan's rooms badly need attention. This time, the bedside table had all four legs, the night light cover was not hanging by a thread and, thankfully, the taps shut off the bathwater but other aspects were the same. The wooden front door was equally rotted, caulk in the bathroom needed replacement and linen had a hole. For some unaccountable reason, the room had such a bright green night light that it was hard to fall asleep. As before, online check-out failed for me and at least one customer. The food on both days was fine and your staff are wonderful. Charlie and Haley were as nice and helpful as Ben was on Thursday. You are lucky to have such dedicated and customer-friendly people. They, and the people who stay with you, should not have to deal with such abysmal maintenance. I don't post bad reviews but I'm making an exception this time due to the lack of response to my earlier feedback about Thursday's room. Don't hold your breath for improvements!"

"Lovely hotel with sauna , steam, pool and jacuzzi. Great for an overnight stay and if it's not too busy, are welcome to use the facilities further, after checkout. Friendly staff and the breakfast is good. Price can vary but I had a great deal . Second time and will return again."

"Lovely one night stay whilst visiting Berkshire. We ate in the pub which was very busy so there was a bit of a wait for food but we were warned when ordering so no issue with that. Really lovely room, exceeded our expectations and lovely shower room as well. Breakfast was great and served fresh from a menu rather than a buffet which was nice. Staff really friendly and we will definitely stay again."

"Excellent Sunday roast with family, tasty sauce and vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Loved the Merguez sausages too as well as the shredded pork tacos. Desserts lovely also. Good service, relaxed environment. Thank you. The Orangery is a nice bright space and it is fun to see the open kitchen and pizza oven."
