Amani Beach Resort

There is not one complaint that I can think of. The reservation right down to the food and location, beaches and rooms, service and serenity were to the T. I would recommend this beautiful cozy hidden little haven any day. We didn't want to leave to come home again. The staff made sure we were comfortable and the new Indian cook catered for all our different palates from the adults to the kids. They have a whole bookshelf and games to choose from as well. Special thanks to Hannintone who made sure we had a smooth getaway. We can't wait to visit again. Soon!

The name 'Amani' itself translates to 'peace,' and Amani Resort at Kutani perfectly embodies this meaning. Located in Dar es Salaam, this resort offers a haven of tranquility and harmony. It serves as the ideal retreat for those seeking respite from the city's hustle and bustle and the pressures of daily life. I recently enjoyed a two-day stay at the resort (December 25th-26th, 2024) with my family. We found the rooms to be spacious and appreciated the option of adding an extra bed for our child at an additional charge. The air conditioning was effective, and the room service was prompt and efficient. The staff were courteous and attentive throughout our stay. A particular highlight was the delicious pizza, which was generously topped with oregano and chili flakes – a rare find in many restaurants within the city. I highly recommend Amani Resort to families seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

This place is really amazing. Whenever I have family in town we come here. The beach is beautiful and expansive - perfect for long walks and swimming when the tide is high. Nice pool and large clean rooms. And the service is outstanding with friendly staff and management whenever needed. Will continue to come back!

An isolated haven just outside Dar. Small resort with gorgeous beach setting. Lovely bungalows right on the beach with a pool as well. Delicious food and the host makes a point of making sure everyone is enjoying themselves. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Positives: Location - Privacy / Secluded - nice clean empty beach to walk in mornings and evenings - although didn't manage to find any snorkelling possibility due to low tide rocks (limited activities options & Cliff walk was not possible due to a stray dog around the resort) Large resort but leading to feelings of not much security - in and outs are random Large bungalow style rooms and good AC / facilities in room (lots of sockets, kettle, small fridge, no power cuts, warm water in shower, massive beds) - all bungalows are sea view and no TV! Some "gems" in the staff which great you with a smile and make you feel welcome Monkey visits provided for fun distraction Negatives: Food - not good value for money, quality average (over oily, although announced grilled most were fried) and mis-charged bill - poor options (would recommend to have seasonal and local food than overpriced "western-catered" food) - feel "forced" to think upfront what to order for the next meal and what time. Fresh Juice was made fresh after asking "outside of menu" - thank you! Average housekeeping (no evening mosquito net preparation - up to you to manage!) and mixed attendance at the restaurants (order confusions) No phone in room to call reception (need multiple back-forth to find attendance)

This is a lovely place right on the beach about an hour's drive from Dar city centre, depending on the route (Kinondoni ferry or the new Bridge) and the traffic. There are only 10 rooms, all of which are large and have a private veranda overlooking the sea. The gardens are lovely and you can walk along the beach without any hassle. It is a perfect weekend get-away, but it does get busy at weekends. You have a good chance to see some monkeys and baboons while you are there, and while you are lazing on the beach, you can watch the fishermen and the dows. The place could do with a bit of TLC, but it was immaculately clean, and the manager was at hand, happy to chat and put things right where necessary. A great place to chill!
