Friendly owner, happy to have our bikes safely inside. Decent twin room. Excellent choice of breakfasts, we chose scramble egg and smoked salmon. We had a nice little cycle over the bridge to Shaldon - discovered Smugglers' tunnel to deserted Ness Cove beach.

We had to unfortunately cancel our 5 night stay for New Year due to illness. We asked if our stay could be deferred in the circumstances but were told in a most officious and non solicitous manner that the answer was NO. We do think that some concern, consideration and negotiation could have been given/done. Compliments of the season - NOT.

The hotel was absolutely spotless, I don’t think I have ever stayed in a cleaner hotel. It was a very cute place to stay, slightly old fashioned which was part of the charm and just a stones throw away from the beach. Sandra, the owner was very pleasant and welcoming. The breakfast was good and they let you know that you can ask for more food if you still wanted more (though what you get is more than enough in the first place). It was well priced and it seems like people return year after year.

no electricity to charge phone or boil kettle at night, regimented times for breakfast but still chsoctic service with wrong orders and lady of the house quite abrupt and made to feel like naughty school kid , bed and wall shaking when people walk past room , quality of good however is very good

We have just enjoyed a 5 night stay (and survived storm Babet) and we have been very happy here. A spotlessly clean room, excellent breakfast, and in a great location too, very close to the beach and convenient for the town. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location. The whole place is spotless. We had room 10 which was a little small but the sea view rooms were all booked. The bed was very comfy and pillows very good. Breakfast was good with a choice of cereals and fruit plus yogurt. Cooked breakfast was ordered and cooked fresh. Plenty of toast and tea/coffee.There is no parking on site, but parking opposite is metered but only for 2 hours during the day. After 6pm is free till next morning. We parked in a big car park just up the road. Was £4.90 for 24 hours. We were visiting friends who live in Teignmouth, so ideal. Would visit again.

We stayed at the hotel for the shanty weekend as always hotel clean and tidy the food was great and service we would have no hesitation on rebooking here again and many thanks to the owners. The hotel is close to the station and is overlooking the beach parking can be a problem but there is a large car park not very far away and there is parking outside on the road overnight free

Great place to stay, easy walk from the railway station. Comfy rooms and a very nice breakfast. Great hosts Close to sea and shops and other transport. Easy walking around town and asking the sea front. We stayed for a short break, lots of returning customers. We will definitely stay again.

What a wonderful hotel with excellent staff and owners. We stayed Friday to Sunday and loved every minute of our stay. The room we had number 7 was great and very spacious with lovely comfortable beds. The breakfast was delicious you could pick from a great menu. The house dog is lovely he even came into our room and ate our dogs dinner bless him. We love Teignmouth the beach is dog friendly and just across from the hotel. We will definitely book the Thornhill again.
