Voyager Ziwani Tented Camp

The night in Ziwani Camp has been booked for me as part of 5 days safari by travel agency. It turned out to be a hidden gem ! It was an unique opportunity to stay in the wild and be surrounded by the nature with comfort and in full security. The place itself provides an access to wildlife. The camp is situated close to the passing river with crocodiles and hippos, cute monkeys are strolling around all the day long, in the evening birds are coming to rest on the trees forming an impressive decor and view for the dinner. In the morning you can be lucky to see Kilimanjaro and beautifully reflecting in the lake.The working personnel is welcoming, caring and highly professional. The afternoon walking safari and the twilight safari were one of the best I've experiences in Kenya, I would like to highlight Michael and Joseph to have an outstanding knowledge of the species and their habitat. In terms of comfort, food was presented in variety, tents are kept secure and proper, beds are very comfortable (even though hammocks outside are not less seductive). Highly recommend this location.

This was a truly magical camp and one of the highlights of our trip. The tents are simple but spacious and clean and hearing all the nature noises at night is just amazing. The setting for dinner was absolutely spectacular: right next to the reservoir, which is lighted by some spotlights and highlighting the tree at the other side and its reflection, on the tree a massive amount of egrets (white birds) makes it look like the whole tree has been lighted or it's in bloom. The egrets sleep all night there and take off in the early morning, which is also an amazing spectacle to view. The food variety is limited, but of very good quality, so we were all happy with it. The service was also excellent. The one thing we all felt that was lacking was a comfortable sitting area for chilling out by the reservoir, where the fire pit or the smoking areas were. We would probably have spent some more time (and money at the bar) before and after dinner if there had been somewhere to hang around pre and after dinner time. Another highlight of our trip was the nature walk with the ranger, waking so near crocodiles and hippos was an exciting experience. The night game drive was also very exciting. We entered into Tsavo West and made a day excursion to Mzima springs and the Shetani lava flows, which was a very scenic trip, crossing a variety of landscapes, including a palm tree forest, which was beautiful. On our safari we saw elephants, lionesses, zebras, baboons, hippos, crocodiles, dik-diks (the sweetest of them all!!), ostriches, buffalo, eagles, giraffes, and some more I can't remember just now. The trip from Amboseli was through a very bumpy road, but really worth it, as you see what real rural Kenya is like and you get rewarded at the end with an amazing stay a Ziwani. Our guide Timan (from Kichaka tours and travels), was really good company and very knowledgeable.

Brilliant experience from start to finish. Exceptionally clean throughout with swift and unobstrusive room cleaning. Tasty drinks made by Jim-James at the bar, who spoke to us about Kenyan culture and local wildlife. Our game drives in the local area revealed many giraffes, impala, zebras, dikdik, elephants and beautiful birds. However the highlight was the walking safari, where experienced Masai guide Steven took around the bush to see hippos, crocs, giraffes and zebras up close. Every evening egrets come to roost in the beautiful tree by the lake, and hippos yawn and play as you eat your dinner. The food is delicious and high quality, there is a short menu but it’s all very tasty. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have everything you need. Calling this place two stars is absolutely not reflective of how memorable and amazing our stay was. The staff are very kind and attentive. We look forward to returning!

I had a lovely and comfy stay at Voyager Camp! The location is just wow! So many crocodiles and hippos around! U have a good view on the famous Kilimandscharo too! The tents are really cozy. Feels actually like a hotel room but in a tent. My sister was very amazed by the mattresses. They were so soft. On our last day we got a one hour morning hike getting close to lots of wildlife and especially hippos and crocodiles! We even got a breakfast buffet in the bush. The personal and staff was very very friendly and welcoming! Also the food super tasty and lots of choice. Really liked the dinner next to their lake with a campfire. We also got lunchboxes from the camp which had actually everything inside. Highly recommended! Would definitely come here again!

Visited ziwani camp on our safari tour we were greeted by everlyne although the brief on it being our honeymoon stay was lost in translation they did however rectify that,the accomodation was lovely and comfortable spacious too and the surroundings breathtaking loved watching the hippos on the lake,the night game drive wasn't so good the torch the used not so powerful so could barely see things unable to try to take any pictures as the operating game guide constantly moved it side to side make it difficult not to mention he had difficulty answering the questions we asked and just kept repeating the facts he did know but hey ho it was a good visit and the food was amazing too compliments to the chef
