Taunton Town House

Was going in August for a short stay, due to a fall couldn't go, still waiting for my money to be returned. They ignored all attempts to contact them.

It’s a let yourself in the building with a key code and same into your room place. No sight of staff on the premises. Basic doesn’t quite hack it, our twin room needed a refurb, new beds and decent linen. The room didn’t smell fresh, cobwebs and dust everywhere esp on the light shade. Carpet needs taking up and replacing. Bathroom wasn’t very clean in places. No food provided on site. Basic tea/coffee and 4 milk pots, nobody around to replenish. Fire instructions were not even given on the poster. Good parking and free which is why it gained one star. Find yourself a proper hotel and spend your money wisely!

What a beautiful town house great original features with stained glass windows, ceilings. Very clean all around the house with modern wooden flooring. The room was spacious clean and cosy. So much better than the travelodge or premier inn felt much more homely. Great free parking in the town centre is a huge bonus. Will be back again for sure

Came here to visit friends in the area. Booked here as it was the most central to the town centre. The town was just across the road so was perfect. Very grand house with easy access 24 hours. The standard room we booked was better than expected. It was spotless. With tasteful furnishings and decor. The WiFi was perfect easy access with a password.

Fantastic central location to the town centre of Taunton here just what I needed. The room was very clean spotless. Spacious superior room with everything that needed, comfy chairs to relax in also. The building is very grand Victorian and felt very homely with great large car parking included as well

Firstly let me say that I have worked in the hotel industry and have a bit of knowledge of what I'm about to put Oh dear what a shame Location brilliant Parking brilliant Room not so much. There is no excuse for what we had to stay in. Pure laziness would explain the dust on lampshades, cobwebs on walls and the black mold/mildew marks in the shower are unexcusable. Cracked tiles, rusty towel holder, rusty radiator, stained floor and dirty grout. No this is not just down to poor housekeeping staff this is down to someone who thinks it's ok to sell rooms in this condition. Lazy? Yes! Because it takes no time at all to do regular room inspections and get maintenance in to rectify the issues found. I'm guessing this isn't done because you don't want to spend the money?? Please also go a little further than the local charity shop to furnish your rooms. 5 bits of furniture and nothing matched and all looked like they were a job lot from the 80's. Your other reviews are a mixed bag so I'm guessing some rooms are ok. When booking a room with a king size bed I want a king size bed as booked. Not a bed for a king from the land of oz. That was not a king size bed. Put the effort in and you will get the rewards. I'm guessing by your trip advisor score you aren't putting the effort in. Thank you for taking my money, I shouldn't think for a minute you'll offer me some kind of reimbursement. Why because you don't care. If you did it would be shown in the state of your room. Thank you for the experience.
