I really really wanted to love this hotel, was very excited to stay and had high expectations (aligned with the high price bracket). Unfortunately, this hotel did not deliver and is definitely not worth the money paid. First, let me set out what is good about it: 1. The breakfast - the choice is excellent, service very good, the chef at the fresh food station is super friendly and the omelettes were fantastic. 2. The location - well based in the centre of town, easy to walk within several shops and restaurant 3. The decor / gallery style - loved the paintings of Slovak artists on all the walls, that was a lovely touch. Now, the disappointing bits: 1. Room is Ok - nice decor (we had modern room with balcony), the bathroom and products are good quality (White Company) However, I don’t understand how there are no coffee or tea making facilities in a 5* hotel room? Absolutely none. So if you’d like to have a cup of coffee / tea in bed when you wake up, this is not the place. 2. Service - we really expected more on this front. The first night we went to Sissi restaurant for drinks and some snacks / nibbles as we had very late lunch elsewhere. It took an hour (I am not exaggerating) to get a cheese & meat platter. The restaurant was at 75% capacity and they could not cope. Very slow service, not particularly friendly and really expensive prices. We did not eat at the hotel for the remaining nights after this experience, plenty of better options outside the hotel to be honest. 3. The Wellness - there is nothing better than a lovely pool / sauna after a day of skiing. In terms of set up, it is good - nice (smallish) pool and a few types of saunas. The issue is, it’s completely unmonitored (well there are attendants there) - it is a small space and the moment you get one very inconsiderate family, your wellness relaxation is over. There were children screaming the place down, splashing books / people trying to relax and read, we had to ask the attendant several times to please remind people to be considerate - completely understand children want to hang out and play in the pool but it should be managed nicely so others can also relax and enjoy the space. We have been in spa for 4 days in a row and it was an issue every time. 4. The extra 5% charge - I mean, I’d be happy to pay this but the service received really does not warrant it. As I said before, I really wanted to love this place and have a base to return to as I really like Tatranska Lomnica. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations and we won’t be returning.

Beautiful hotel. Service is excellent and friendly. A glass of fizz on arrival and a walk around the hotel to show you the amenities. Lovely room with balcony overlooking the wellness area. Plenty of storage space in the room and a very comfortable bed. Bedtime turndown service with chocolates was fabulous. Wellness area is clean and friendly with a bar. Aperol spritz in the jacuzzi was my favourite time! Lots of different saunas and experiences to try. All free. Breakfast was amazing - just so much to eat and drink, all beautifully presented. We unfortunately didnt get to eat an evening meal at the hotel as there was just too many other restaurants we wanted to try. All in all a fantastic stay at a fantastic hotel. Would highly recommend.

OH MY LORD, THE EXPERIENCE HER WAS SURREAL. The pool felt like I was with Ariel under the sea, the cold plunge was so motivating, and I cannot express my love for the staff more. There are so many activities, and the restaurants are exquisite , not to mention gorgeous.

We had a superb one-night stay at this elegant hotel. The High Tatras National Park surrounds it. It was built in the late 19th century. as the first hotel in the High Tatra Mountains region. The hotel has a refurbished old part, but we stayed in the new part, built in 2015, so everything is clean and shiny. The Spa is compact but has anything you wish for, including an outdoor jacuzzi. The rounded rocking bed they have in the Spa was a great treat! Breakfast was great, assorted, and tasty in an exquisite setting. Kristína at the front desk was very informative and kind in helping me to plan the next day! We highly recommend staying here!

It is the best hotel in the Tatras and in Slovakia, in my opinion. Fantastic service, helpful staff, professional approach in every case. Wonderful food prepared by real masters. Special thanks to our favorite Andrea, who always takes care of us kindly and professionally at dinner. Many thanks to Dominika for her wonderful drinks and absolute thanks to the reception for their kindness and willingness. Wellness at a high level, clean and cozy historical rooms and suites. I wish you many satisfied clients and look forward to seeing you soon.

Bad coffe, but very expensive. Waiters - miss the skills. serving tea with honey packaged in plastic does not belong to this restaurant category. The impossibility of ordering a side dish other than the side dish with a pre-pulled cut is also very non-standard

Very nice hotel and hotel amenities. But unfortunately hotel restaurant and restaurant stuff was not very professional and the food was more like the average and not like the 4 star hotel restaurant. We were very disappointed with the food from the menu, spaghetti from zucchini was not tasty and Vienna schnitzel was too salty. Not worth the money we spent. When we came there was staff meeting and we were asked to wait for meeting end to be seated , it was very disrespectful.

This was our fourth visit, and last. Management seems to be fading, poor services, but the last day with a bizarre, humiliating and shameful treatment assured that I will not be able to enter the door on this otherwise exquisitely renovated building. On the last day of our 5-night stay, we were approached by the manager in the restaurant right after breakfast. He said there’s been damage to our room and amount of 340€ will be added to our bill. I was surprised as I wasn’t aware of breaking anything, but initially open to see and requested at least an itemised bill. Right in the middle of the restaurant he had no problems stating: Madame, there are blood stains on your bedding.! …..I was speechless, this is a gorgeous 4-star facility with history and significance to the area, that I have ties to. I thought this was a particularly wrong way to raise any “irreparable damage” that had to be added to the bill. I refused to discuss this in the middle of the restaurant and went to reception to complain. Bizarreness, amateurism and awfully wrong communication escalated further as reception said that I already spoke to the manager and nobody else will attend to me. They’re not allowed to call GM (***??), on my insistence the Reception manager came. It was a lady and offered coffee and a sit down, however insisted that waving pics of blood stains in the middle of a restaurant is really fine…?! I requested assistance from ***********, and their manager called the hotel. They confirmed that this was our fourth visit and we spent all up to about 8.000 € with this place, found this way of communication to be particularly rude and proposed that this dispute is resolved in amicable manner. I went to reception to check out after this to find that the hotel couldn’t care less for amicable resolution. To my saying that staining is NOT DAMAGE unless they tried cleaning it; which they refused to try and say they throw away any blood stained bedding. I needed to see General Business Conditions, Accommodation Order or any document that would back up the amount they wanted to charge. This is all backed by Slovak legislation - frivolous charging extra items is illegal. Clearly not a single manager was aware of legislation framework, the whole treatment was amateurism and you’ d expect this from some hostel in Albania and not classy property of this sort. I requested a proper report on this incident, itemised bill and proof that there’s irreparable damage (as per law) and stated that that could have been prepared some time ago since they insist on payment and knew our check out day and time. But it is prepared - stated manager and repeatedly kept disappearing to back office for long periods of time. We were left waiting for more than an hour and a half, came out with a paper stating that 6 pillows, 2 duvets, cleaning of two carpets (that were stained on our arrival) will be paid, blank paper, no explanatory note, report proof - and “Manager” asked me to agree and pay…
