Hotel Villa Schuler

I stayed with a group of friends early April of this year. I can't say enough about this amazing hotel. Our rooms were spacious and had great views of the Bay of Naxos and Mt. Etna. The gardens were spectacular. Breakfast had many options and was delicious. The entire staff was very professional and friendly. Marco and Gabriel treated us like family, they were always available if we needed anything. I highly recommend Hotel Villa Schuler. My friends and I plan on going back.

Hotel Villa Schuler was recommended by a Sicily Facebook group I was following while preparing for our first time trip to Sicily. I am so happy I took this suggestion for our stay in Taormina. It was my favorite town and favorite hotel of our trip. Everything from the front desk staff, the cleaning of our room, the views, and the best location to walk right out the back of the hotel through their gorgeous gardens right into town. The main pedestrian street in Taormina is only a few steps away but far enough that there was no noise. There’s plenty to see within walking distance and they have a shuttle to the beach. We had a garden view room because the sea views rooms were all booked. We were perfectly happy with our room and the view of the garden was beautiful. The views from the rooftop are amazing. The sea, Mt Etna, what more could you want. I highly recommend this hotel and if I return to Taormina someday I will only stay here.

Wonderful Botique hotel, family owned & operated, with very gracious & efficient staff. Extremely well-managed, with care & very hospitable. The staff are very efficient & a pervasive Happy atmosphere is a reflection of the excellent management!

We stayed 4 nights in Taormina as a base for both exploring the Ionian Sea side of Sicily and experiencing the wonderfulness of Taormina. Villa Schuler was perfect because: the location allows 10 minute walk to spectacular ancient temple at the top of Taormina, steps away walk to main street that goes through town, private short cut through back gate to town (after passing through beautiful garden), very attentive staff, space available for any guest to read, chat, sit on 4th floor solarium (if rainy) and porch as well as large terrace on hillside a few steps down from registration desk. Turns out that nice to have small turnout by Villa Schuler for pick up or drop off by car (because extremely narrow streets with limited parking). Highly recommend choosing sea view (so you have small private balcony) and prepaid breakfast (so you don’t worry about cost of specific choices to order).

We have just returned from our stay at the villa. We loved that it was a family owned/smaller boutique hotel. The hotel is located a street below the main Corso or walking street and sits on the side of the mountain with splendid views. Our room was one of the top floor suites with a large balcony. We loved to watch the sunset and boats in the bay below each day. The staff were very accommodating and helpful to organize dinners and a day at the beach. Breakfast was wonderful with many options. If you want to be right in the middle of town and able to walk everywhere easily then this is the hotel for you! However, once you step into the garden it is peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

If you’ve read some of the reviews before this one, you know Hotel Villa Schuler is a diamond among the many gem accommodations of Taormina! My wife and I seek out places to stay like Villa Schuler and we found possibly our favorite stay from a long and varied list of travels! For all the reasons that can be found in the other reviews here. As for our personal experience, we found all the staff to be absolutely wonderful. We truly felt like we were treated as friends and not just hotel guests to be waited on. When we arrived at our room, we were delighted to find that it was unique in that it had 2 balconies! As far as we could tell, ours was one of only 2 like this. We recommend room #6 or the one directly above it. I’m guessing the suites on the top floor are even better but obviously with a higher rate. An added feature of the corner room with the 2 balconies is that it created great airflow in the room. Always very comfortable. This trip was so great and largely made possible through the incredible Hotel Villa Schuler. For better or worse, Taormina seems to be experiencing rapid growth at the moment because of The White Lotus series. If you want to be a part of the old charm and beauty of Taormina, choose Hotel Villa Schuler. You will fall in love with it!
