Hotel Hot spring Tanabe

I came here on foot for the Nakabe Road to the Prince's Gate. I got off the JR Kii Tanabe bus and changed to the bus to the hotel. I have to pay attention to the time of getting off the bus. The journey takes more than an hour. There will be no bus if you are late. In addition, the hotel has a car that can take you to the Prince's Gate on the Nakabe Road on the Kumano Kodo for free. You can make a reservation at the front desk one night in advance. This time I booked a tatami room with one morning and one night. At dinner time, a waiter will come to help lay the tatami. Dinner is a buffet. I recommend beef and stream fish. The quality of beef is very good. The stream fish can be heated in the pot by yourself, and the taste is better. The outdoor hot spring is just downstairs by the river. There are two pools and mixed pools. There are also separate pools for men and women indoors. If you want to go out to soak in the outdoor mixed pool, you can wear the yukata prepared in your bathroom. There is also an open-air free pool not far from the hotel. You can also ask the front desk to borrow a shovel to dig hot springs by the river. The experience is great! After the hot spring, there are also a lot of local oranges (it seems to be the origin of oranges, very sweet). The guests are not only Chinese, but also Japanese who come here for vacation. The overall feeling is very good.

Very cool. Unrivaled ocean view room. The carpet is a bit wet but just pass on slippers. Does not affect the experience. Super cost-effective at just over 300. Breakfast is a bento box. You need to pay extra for the buffet. There is only one restaurant five minutes away. There is a Lawson convenience store 15 minutes away. A taxi from Tanabe or Shirahama costs about 2,000 yen

Good Onsen style hotel with sea view near to Kii-Tanabe station (very convenient if you will start a walking rout of Kumano Kodo starting from Kii-Tanabe). The hotel is a little bit old fashion but every corner of the room and public spaces were in very good conditions. Just be careful because there is some rooms with private toilet but with shared shower/bath, considering that is a Onsen style hotel (we booked a twin room with private toilet but we never image that the bath/shower was shared in the Onsen facilities).

When I arrived at Watase Onsen after dark in the evening, despite the language barrier, the uncle at the front desk took the initiative to use the translation software to explain in detail the use of the hotel’s facilities and the opening hours of the hot springs. Let us move in as soon as possible.

This hotel is simply to be described as ”grateful”! Kumano Ancient Road ended the first day of hiking in the near-dew Prince. I missed the last bus to the hotel. In the rain, the village was uninhabited. There was really no way, I tried to call the hotel to ask, the hotel was very refreshing to pick it up. Almost 20 kilometers away. The hotel actually does not take a penny! Shoe drying service is also provided, which provides very intimate service for the wet! One berth and two food service is also very good!

Very old-fashioned hotel, the door is still opened by a key. The hot spring is great, you can enjoy the outdoor hot spring. Dinner and breakfast are super nice, the service is very comfortable. It drizzled in the morning, sitting by the window to enjoy the tranquility of the mountains. The bus was very crowded in the morning when we left this stop, and the hotel brother quickly drove us to the next stop. There were backpackers who were climbing the mountain, and we squeezed the most crowded bus in the past 20 years to go down the mountain to Hayatama Taisha.

This is the first time I tried this homestay similar to a youth hostel. Still quite recommended. Everything is better than expected, the environment is comfortable and quiet. In short, it was a surprise. Will choose to stay in the future.

The boss also said that he had worked in Shanghai 20 years ago and was so intimacy. The hotel is on the side of the road in Kumano Ancient Road, where you can explore the ancient road. And it really is fog の, it is raining in the morning and fog is really like in a fairyland.

The second time I lived, the last time was 8 years ago, the facilities were still clean and not significantly old. There is still the hospitality of traditional Japanese-style hotels. The hot springs are still good, and it is a relatively new hotel near the Dragon God.

The open-air bath in the bath is very large, with 5 pools for men's baths and 4 for women's baths. The hotel has 4 family baths, which are free for hotel residents. Hotel guests have two keys, one is the door to the house, and the other is to open the family door. The hotel has a free shuttle bus from Shirahama Station. There is also a free shuttle bus to Kumano Hongu Taisha. The one-park-two-food set meal is quite satisfactory. Because the hotel is located in the mountains, there is nothing around it, so it can only bubble soup at night.
