Let's just say I will not stay here again.... The restaurant's food left a lot to be desired, not good very at all. They do not do any breakfast. I had no hot water for 2 days, yes 2 days! On the positive side, the staff (1 person - Barman - waiter - cook) was a very pleasant guy.

Please don't make the mistake of thinking the official photos are representative of what you will see at the location. The whole thing looked very different, very run down and quite frankly dangerous. We were left wondering whether they had used AI to make their rooms appear nicer, or if there had been a starkly different managerial style some time in the past when this place was liveable. When we visited the electrical wiring was hanging out of the wall, the wall itself was very damaged, there was hardly any space between the tap and the sink to wash your hands and the worst part was that there locks did not work. There is no hotel staff on hand, you get your key from a keybox by your actual room door. The hallway is open to everyone and there is no security. In our case that meant repeated attempts by unknown persons to actually break into our room. We did not feel safe enough to actually spend the night there. So, it ended up costing us double - we had to pay for the room we didn't use and buy a new one in a real hotel for the same night.

We were unable to check in until 5pm despite the booking confirmation and the website saying check-in was from 3pm. No one answered either the mobile or the landline numbers for the hotel so we were left wondering what to do. At this point we were thinking if we'd been scammed. No check-in instructions sent via text/WhatsApp as the sign says near the hotel rooms. We came back at 5pm after sitting in the car for 2 hours and spoke with staff in the pub which took awhile even then to get anyone's attention. The room itself is small, the bed was clean but very very soft mattress depending on your preference and only 1 pillow each. The bathroom was tiny, the sink even smaller and the bathroom smelled of damp and was generally unclean. No bath matt to stand on and only 1 towel provided each. No hot water in the shower whatsoever but hot water to the sink? The building is very old and creaks all the time, not ideal if you're needing to rest before a flight. A couple came in at 1am, slammed the door and due to the thin walls we could hear absolutely everything... We chose to stay here because of the free parking but I would suggest going elsewhere for a better stay / service even if you do have to pay £6-£10 extra to park. There are other options nearby for a similar price. Quite easily the worst hotel stay we've ever had!

Booked a table here for 1pm with friends. By 1.35 the table that had sat empty since we’d arrived had still not been cleared. Once we further requested to sit at our table it was eventually cleared. We waited around over an hour for our food to arrive. 4 out of 7 of us received our meal. After about 10 minutes we asked about the remaining meals and were met by a blank face, to then be asked what we’d ordered! The 3 people without a meal had to re order their food and were told it would be 10 minutes…after about half an hour it arrived. Food was ok ish, although one of the burgers didn’t have the salad and cheese as advertised and the bun was still partially frozen. No one appeared to be in a rush with anything and were largely unapologetic for the wait with food and for the missing 3 meals. Appalling service, food was unappetising and inside the pub it was FREEZING! Especially the toilets - Baltic! My friend said my lips looked blue by the time we left! Taps in the toilets aim outwards so you get soaked and water goes all over the floor. There is nothing boutique about this place, far from it. The worst outing we’ve all had in years!!! I would not recommend to anyone.

Had a Groupon voucher to try was a friendly welcome, Bar and restaurant a mix of style could sit anywhere. The soup was more like a puree, hadn't even finished it when main course came out. We both choose beef big mistake! had trouble cutting and chewing it. Nobody came over to ask how it was or offer any horseradish etc, the rest of the roast was okay. My dessert was alright, it was supposed to come with ice-cream but don't know what it was so left that. Another table just walked out after tasting their beef then we got asked how ours was. Bit late by then, sorry but definitely won't be going back even with the offer.

Under new management I believe. John is , lovely lively and bubbly. Is keen to hear the locals views and wasn’t a to make the pub back to how it should be. We had food and was perfect, busiest I have seen a Sunday hopefully the pub picks up exited for the future.

Rooms very dirty we could have filled a vacuum cleaner under the bed. Emails not answered phone calls left unanswered great confusion regarding our booking only showing our Emails convinced them that we did in fact have a booking which had been paid for. Loud music playing until 12.30 in the morning which kept us awake Food very average. Understaffed but the harassed lady in charge did her best to sort things out with the owner.

Unfortunately it wasn't a pleasant experience, the front door from the entrance wouldn't close slamming and banging all night. Bed linen not changed, dirty, terrible smell of urine. It was a nightmare. Next time I will read reviews first.
