CHECK inn Express Hotels in Taichung

Convenient and fast, very cost-effective for business travel! The soundproofing of the room needs to be improved. There are many delicious foods near Yizhong Street, so you don't have to worry about having nothing to eat in the middle of the night. It is a short distance from the hot area, so you don't have to worry about being woken up by the 89 monkeys making noises on the street.

If you like Fengjia Night Market, it's right in front, so it's great for sightseeing! However, the night market really opens at night... There's nothing there during that time, lol. But the hotel is really clean and has windows, so it's nice. The luggage storage is actually just behind the counter... It's unmanned, lol. I just leave it on the first floor and leave, so I'm a little worried, but there's nothing I can do about it! Taichung itself is quiet and secluded, so it's nice~ This hotel is far from everything except Fengjia Night Market~ Please take that into consideration when making a reservation.

It's a self-service check-in, but there's only one machine open and you need to queue up. Plus, the machine was unavailable that day so the wait was a bit long. The unmanned service wasn't any faster. But I don't say that the price is quite cheap on weekdays, but the room hygiene needs to be improved. The bed sheets were originally dirty, and later I asked the service staff to change them. Later, when I took a shower, I found hair on the shelf next to the shower gel, but it was already late, I didn't want to disturb them, and I didn't think it would be over after a shower 😖 Because the bathroom in the room has no external windows, there is a damp smell when you first enter. It is recommended to open the window or curtains to let in some sunlight when no one is staying there. It is generally OK.

The Check Inn Express hotel offers self service check in and check out. For our 2 stays here, several days apart, the check in did not work. The trip.com booking reference was not recognized, a non-Taiwan phone number also is not accepted and the email option likewise did not work. The first time we called a number at the desk, no answer for a while then finally two house-leaning staff appeared and checked us in (manually).  It is not clear if this is a trip.com or hotel technical issue.  The lobby is sparse to say the least, the left luggage area is an unattended space, but local honesty and courtesy make it okay nonetheless to leave your cases there for a few hours. Taiwan rules seem to be no check in before 15:00 or even 16:00 in one place, from our experience in Tainan, Taichung and Taipei.   All this being said, the staff we did interact with at Check Inn Express were friendly and helpful, even if the check in process failed. Check out is very swift and it worked well using their self service terminal.
