Econo Lodge

I stayed here to get away from the 4th of July fireworks and was specifically told that there wouldn't be any. The General Manager ended up lying to me like I don't know anything when I checked in. When I mentioned something to him about fireworks being set off nearby because I'm a veteran, he told me that there was nothing he could do because his guests weren't doing it on his property. He also told me that if I didn't like it to leave. The GM could be new to managing hotels, but this is something that you never say to a paying customer who's highly esteemed in Monroe County. Not to mention that the bathtub in Room 224 looked nasty, there was an old piece of pepperoni on the floor near my nightstand, there were no plastic cups or coffee cups in my room despite there being a Keurig on my desk and the complimentary breakfast area had no napkins! I expected to get what I paid for, however, even the most basic motels and hotels have more bare necessities than this place. I, personally would not recommend Econo Lodge to anyone who's traveling from out of town or state.

One of the worst experiences I ever had at a motel. Showed up at 2:30 PM to be told by Shahroz (general manager) that "the computer" overbooked the motel, and he canceled my reservation (without notifying me). Despite my confirmed reservation, he would not rent me the room at the agreed upon rate. But since I was "such a nice guy," he could book a new reservation (at a higher rate, of course) so somehow, they had a room available if I was willing to pay extra. Wasted 90 minutes arguing with him and trying to call Choice Hotels corporate office. This is highway robbery, and Shahroz should be ashamed of himself for this sort of business practice. Had stayed here several times when visiting the area but will never stay there again. I did file a complaint with Choice Hotels corporate office afterward who took my information and said they would follow up but would not provide a refund or any compensation for my poor experience.
